Even former NBA all-star Isaiah Thomas likes the hire.

Not to be a downer on this, but that NOT the Isaiah Thomas Detroit Pistons player who played in the same era as Malone and Stockton. This is the Isaiah Thomas who played at U- Dub and then the NBA.

        Still an impressive endorsement!

That’s correct on which IT that is….But still a former NBA All-Star, who was coached by RC @ UW….Quite the endorsement!!

Yes. Almost forgot about that Isaiah Thomas. I was a huge Jazz fan in the 90s. I still remember that elbow to the head that required stitches Karl Malone gave him many years ago. Ouch.

Back in the 90’s driving the lane was business decision. You’d have to face the likes of Malone, Barkley, Ewing etc. etc. etc. I miss that kind of basketball.

              Yup I miss it too.

Tough D. Physical. No easy baskets. Pick and roll. Assists. Only a few 3-pointers a game. Final scores 85 – 82 instead of 134-128.

Ugh, I can’t stand seeing those video game final scores. The golden age of the NBA, roughly 1990-2002, was so fun to follow. I can’t understand how we got to a point where the league has de-emphasized defense so much.

Remember in the old days how we’d watch games and occasionally see a whistle for “illegal defense” – which was basically a zone defense. Back then man to man defense was the only kind allowed.

Back then most games didn’t score in the 100s
Its kind of like college today, which thankfully still has defense. One of the many reasons why college hoops kills the NBA.

Alex must have a solid euro connection after all the years he played pro over seas.
