KeymasterThat was painful. Anyone else think it is funny that the due date is the same date that taxes are due?
Also, I find myself wondering how I can justify spending this much money to see these storied powerhouses:
Cal Poly
Texas Tech
Arizona State
Colorado
Cincinnati
Kansas StateNo UCLA (yeah road game I know)
No Washington
No Oregon
No USC
No Stanford….
(insert whining about the demise of the Pac-12 here) -

ParticipantYes between taxes and football tickets, I might have to visit the Poor Farm. Terrible due date.

ParticipantUnfortunately I have to give up my tickets. I’ve had season tickets since the early 70’s. Just can’t justify the cost being retired on a fixed income. If anyone wants them I can work something out otherwise I will lose them for good. W13 row 48 4 seats together one being on the isle. Nice to get in and out for bathroom or food run.

KeymasterHa I’m in W13 also.

ParticipantI hope you let Harlan know. BTW, cleaning out some old documents earlier today, My tickets in W 14 have gone up 300% since 2015. The bulk of that since 2018 when Harlan took command

ParticipantMy tickets went from 99 a seat per season to 1500 per seat per season. My 4 seats went from 400 to 6000. I get its supply and demand. I’ve had a fabulous run. I’ve been able to go with my daughter for over 20 years and now my grandson for 10 years. I’ve seen the lows of the early 70’s and the highs of Alex Smith and Cam Rising era. Many bowl games including Fiesta and Sugar. My two regrets: not going to either Rose Bowls (cost) and not going to the 1998 final 4 in basketball (cost). I’ll still be following and cheering but will miss the excitement of being there in person. I hope Whitt can right the ship and we can have a fun winning season again.

ParticipantI get it, trust me. I think the demand side is giving out this year based on what the early indicators are saying.

ParticipantDo you feel like Utah tickets are unfairly priced with other comparable programs, and that Harlan has been unnecessarily increasing prices while other AD’s have held the line?
-
Jim Vanderhoof
ParticipantOmaha I don’t know what others charge and in my case it doesn’t matter. If I had the money I would renew and support the program. It’s not a matter of what’s fair but can you afford the tickets or not. In my financial situation it’s not worth it. We used to go to 8-10 concerts a year now 1 or 2. I don’t think I’m alone. At some point the price out weighs the enjoyment gained and best use of that money. I’m not bitter or mad because I understand the economics of having a strong program. I’m still an avid Ute fan and will always support the program.

ParticipantSome dude last year did some comparisons on X and it showed that in all of the PAC12 and Big12, Utah was 3rd in highest charge per game (tickets and club fees combined). I didn’t check his work, but the few I looked at indicated he was probably accurate. Which, if all we are comparing against are Oregon and SC, I get it. But reality is we are in a lessor conference (FB wise) and our average wage is lower than 25 states and our cost of living is also 25th.
Seems like a bad combination to me. It should be noted that in the time Harlan has taken over, our FB program has made record profits, but the department as a hole is now losing money. Is this the trend everywhere or just here?

ParticipantYou and me, Jim. Between ever increasing prices, big12 schedule and mostly 8:30 conference games well into the cold season, my OLED will work just fine.
Add to that, crashing S&P500 with no assurance that the markets won’t continue to crash along with the rest of the economy.
If we want to go to a game, there are tickets available.
Maybe we will go back to the RB to watch Utah play UCLA.

ParticipantI just paid for my tickets last night Section N26. I have 2 seats there and I would like to get 2 more close to where my seats are. If anyone has or knows of anyone who wants to sell their tickets, let me know.

NarfUte
ParticipantI’m also in N26 and want to add two more 😂

ParticipantFor the first time in 21 years, I sold my season tickets this week.
I had to scramble for a new job a few weeks ago after my company got DOGE’d and ended up having to take about a 50% pay cut. Simply couldn’t afford it this year so we had to give them up.
Not too torn up about it though, as the kid’s have so many activities now that it was becoming REALLY hard to even get to games anymore. I’ll miss the atmosphere but am glad they’re going to someone who will use them.

TomahawkCruise
ParticipantActually, that’s not a bad alignment with tax season. Use your refund to pay for the tickets.
Unless you owe, of course. But of the 30 years I’ve been working, I’ve only owed one time.

Kellso
ParticipantNo refund for me. Not since I was a teen. So, it’s a double whammy. Oh well, looking forward to summer and then football.
