I’m glad I’m not the only one who didn’t like Nirvana, grunge, and “alternative” (which wasn’t really alternative anyway because everyone listened to it, so it was really just another mainstream genre). Don’t like it now, didn’t like it in the 90’s when I was supposed to. Didn’t like the look, the sound, the musicianship. I have to agree with my dad (an accomplished rock guitarist) who said “grunge sounds like a bunch of kids learning to play the guitar together.” As far as I’m concerned, grunge can take its heavy distortion, nonsensical lyrics, and flannel shirts back to Seattle and stay there.
