I’m excited for this season! Granted, we have no idea how well the guys are going to play, we don’t know if Troy Taylor’s offense is going to take off or be a complete bust. Troy Williams may be lights out, or he may not even be our starter going into Pac-12 play. We could end up 10-2 or 5-7. Who knows? But seriously, I love this team and I love being a fan!
In 43 days, we get to begin another season of Utah football! It’s my favorite time of year! For 12 out of 13 weeks, starting August 31st, we get to watch our team grind it out on the field. Then we get to debate the pros and cons, good plays and bad, wins and losses, etc. on fan forums, call-in shows, and just chatting with friends or co-workers. What a rush!
And looking at what other fans in the State have to look forward to, I honestly wouldn’t want to be a fan of any other team. I mean, BYU… their season is done after the Mississippi St game. They have nothing after that. After Oct 14, all they have left are MW bottom dwellers and a couple filler teams, what should be easy wins for them. At least Utah St fans have some games to look forward to, playing some of the better teams in the MWC.
What do we have? We play in one of the best conferences in the country! Nine conference games!!! We get AZ, Stanford (at HOME), FreakinUSC!!! After 10/14 (when the Y’s season is done), we still have ASU, Oregon, UCLA, Wazu, UDub, and while they’re sitting at home watching re-runs of Little House on the Prairie, we’ll be enjoying a cold November game vs the Buffs. Granted, I’ll be sitting at home in warmer STG watching it on my 65″ with surround sound while sitting on my leather reclining sofa with vibrating massage and drink cooler, but still. 😉
