We made the top 5 for 4* safety Julius Irvin. He also has Michigan, USC, Notre Dame and Washington in the top 5.

4* LB Brandon Kaho is committed to BYU, but came out with a top 5 of BYU, Alabama, UCLA, Oregon and UTAH. Not sure why he would come out with a top 5 if he was fully committed to BYU.

4* DE Cameron Latu is committing tomorrow and the favorites are Alabama and USC, but Utah, Nebraska, and Oregon are all in play. And his tweet does say “Everyone thinks they know where I’m committing, imma shock some people..” So we have a small chance of landing him.
Devon Williams is a 4* athlete with us included in his top 10.

Salua Masina is a 4* LB from Utah that is predicted to choose Utah. Scout also has Vanderbilt as a top option for him.
We are also one of the favorites to land Tennessee Pututau who is a 4* LB

Sione Angilau is a 4* OT/DT from East High. And we are in the running with several other big schools for him
4* Sam Taimani is also a 4* OL from East High. He has a top 5 of Utah, Notre Dame, Alabama, Oregon and Washington

Chris Brown is a 4* RB from California. Scout shows us in the top 2 with Washington
There are another 7+ 4* guys that are considering us and I may post them later. There are too many 3* guys to list and we will start landing some once the season starts and we can get some guys here for their Official visits. But this just goes to show how much more attention Utah is getting for some of these higher recruits. We are fighting with Bama, USC, Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA, Nebraska etc on a bunch of these guys. We have made the top 5 on more of these type of players than we ever have before. It would be nice to land a few more of them, but at least we are getting our foot in door.

10 years ago I never would have thought we’d be on a recruits top 5 with the likes of Notre Dame, Alabama, Oregon, USC, UCLA, or Nebraska, much less to be on quite a few. That rocks!!!

Gonna be interesting to see where Cameron Latu commits tomorrow. From what I’ve read on him, everyone is expecting Bama and that U$C hasn’t been pushing as much lately. If he doesn’t pick us, I hope he goes out of the conference.

Scout has him leaning toward Bama.

I think most feel thats where he will land. His tweet may just be to get more interest, but Bama is the strong favorite.

Thanks for doing this. Winning a Pac-12 championship cannot be done without a roster full of blue chips. Yes, our coaching staff can nab a diamond in the rough, coach up a 2*-3* to become an NFL player, but that is not enough to get us where we want to go.
Winning a nation championship takes even more. There’s an article out there in the internwebs that I have lost my link to, when I find it, I’ll post it, but what it states is that a team must have about 45 blue chips on the roster before a national championship is possible. Clemson crossed that threshold this past year and look what happened. It’s incredibly interesting. No team has won a national championship will less blue chips. The number may be 48, again, it’s all from memory. Anyway, we’re a far cry from 45 or 48, point is, we gotta build!
We are getting better recruits, I think this last class was something like 4 or 5 4*s? We know that Tuttle has been recruiting for us, and I attributed some of our success to him, however, Carrington? He obviously isn’t going to play with Tuttle, so why in the hell did he pick Utah? Remember last year Devin Lucien told us thanks but no thanks and went to ASU? Well, getting Carrington has got be be all Troy Taylor.

Bless you for compiling this. I am not savvy enough to track down this stuff on Twitter.
If only the state of Utah was still “undiscovered” by the out of state schools… the state has so much local talent lately, just got to retain it. I certainly understand the appeal of going out of state, but there is something to be said for representing your state flagship school and playing in front of friends and family.
