1st and 10 . Utes are moving the ball down the field. Reverse is called. Its now 2nd and 27.  Utes are now out of field goal range.

I’ve been complaining about the amateur hour reverse call all year. Is Troy Taylor dense, stupid, stubborn, or clueless? IT DOES NOT WORK. Why do we continue to do it when it fails every time?

It works on Utahs defense. If you recall UCLA ran it just fine.

He also had his patented awful play calls in the read-option followed by the WR screen when we were backed up on our own goal line.

Without Mata’afa that play is a 20 yard pass play to Huntley.  Urban ran the same play to Alex Smith a few times.

Without Mata’afa we win that game.  He destroyed our Oline all game.  That kid is good.

Yep. Taylor was trying to take advantage of the over pursuit by the WSU defense. Unfortunately the LB stayed home. Still the receiver had only to make a move and get past one player, but 50 made one heck of a play to shut it down. There was a lot of open field behind him if Simpkins(?) could have beat him. The one thing I did wonder is why we didn’t run a throw back screen behind the pressure. That looked open a lot because of the pursuit.

Fast as a LB but he played DT most of the night, lining up across from our RG, the weakest  part of our OL.
