People on here tend to get pretty defensive when Harding is attacked for having terrible o-line play, and so far the best defense has been “He put 4 guys into the NFL.”

After some digging I came across a some starts that has broken down the o-line play.

Utah’s o-line last year ranked 112th in power yardage success rates, Cal ring a bell, and sacks allowed on passing downs- 81st.

This year is terrible across the board we all know that.

With Wilson and Booker, the o-line was great in short yardage situations (unsure how much of that was Wilson and Booker running the read option, or the o-line) but as a constant theme Utah ranked near the bottom of the fbs level under sacks allowed on passing down situations.

I agree last year’s line was bad on downs they knew the run was coming. It’s something we’ve never been good enough at against teams that are good on the trenches. Ie 4th and goal at the 2 against Stanford
