Five star QB to transfer to P12

Don’t know anything about him other than what this article says. Seems to suck for Utah though.

Yes, could make the conference tougher. Those that believe the graduation or early entry of some of the Pac-12’s better QBs will result in a huge dropoff at those schools are forgetting that those schools also have solid recruits waiting in the wings and/or the ability to get well-qualified transfers.

As a sidenote, looks like UW failed to sign a 5-star local kid out of high school. It happens.

Eh. I’m not surprised. I’d be shocked if Kelly doesn’t add a former 4/5 star QB before the fall. That being said, I’d bet it’s a kid who can play right away though.

If UCLA doesn’t get a QB by fall, they will be BAAAAAD.

      I think it’d be great.

That is what happens to a program when they get a supremely talented FR QB like Fromme. Everybody else will want to leave to get playing time, and finding/keeping a serviceable backup is tough. Fromme will play every game for the next two years unless he gets hurt, and it will be interesting to see whether UGA’s new 5-star QB  recruit sticks around.

My only retort is which top flight SEC transfer at the QB position has ever flourished in the PAC12?  Barnett, Bateman, and Mustaine all rode the bench.  Hell, Cornwell lasted 4 weeks at Nevada, yes MWC bottom dweller Nevada, this year before it became apparent to him that a 2 star nobody had beaten him out for the job.  Tom Savage had a cup of coffee at ASU before landing back at Pitt after leaving Rutgers.  Quarterback in the PAC 12 is a whole different animal for what ever reason.

Recently thhe only true outlier that I can think of as an high profile SEC transfer at QB has been Will Grier who left Florida for WVU and what QB playing in the big 12 hasn’t looked like a total stud against those defenses (I know Chuganov sucked against us but they hung 31 on Oklahoma with him under center).

DTR will be starting for UCLA game one.
