Taking on Oregon State at the Huntsman Center. Skinner was PAC-12 gymnasts of the week last week. Let’s se her do it again.

One of my favorite things about skinner and the team as a whole is how much they and their success trigger the envious trolls commenting on YouTube. Yes, Utah fans are nuts about the gymnastics team and the marketing blitz results in fans that come out in droves for the meets, probably some are even obnoxious. *shrug*. But it works. This reigning Pac-12 champ team is ranked consistently in the top 5 nationwide. I wonder what the troll’s teams are ranked?

197.450 to 196.300 Red Rocks with the win!

Compared to floor and vault, beam and bars need some work if we’re going to win a national championship. I know it’s early but I’m all in for a national championship year and expect nothing less. I was a little disappointed. I know, crazy to be disappointed with a 197.45 but we left some points out there on beam and bars.
Kari Lee on bars, ouch!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but did Sydney Soloski replace Kari on floor? If so, we might not see Kari on floor anymore. Sydney was very impressive.

I think part of the reason you saw some tiny mistakes and wobbles was because the ladies were tired. Remember the competed on Sunday and then a meet Friday. Not a ton of time to rest in between. As for Lee, I am not sure if she was outright replaced or what. Once again, could just be tired.

Do you happen to know what that strange meet was last Sunday? I don`t think it “counted” as a Pac-12 meet, so was it some kind of exibition?
Good point about little rest.

I don’t know much about that meet. It wasn’t even televised. It was 4 pax 12 teams yet the pac 12 had no affiliation with it. Weird. I don’t know how the final scores play into the season, or if they do at all…. weird.

It’s called a quad meet. 4 team and 4 events (vault, bars, beam, floor). All teams compete starting on a different event so all are competing at the same time. And yes, it counts as a meet in tally of total ending season score. But teams participating in a quad meet can still do head to head meets. So even though Utah lost to UCLA, they can still beat UCLA again iwhen they travel to Pauly Pavilion Feb 16. The reason playing a team twice in a season matters is that the playoffs in gymnastics are determined by a committee. They choose which teams get the golden ticket by looking at the totality of a teams season results.

Johnny80Participant
Thanks for clearing things up. As a community I believe we were confused. I (we) understand what a quad meet is… just did not know how it had pac 12 implications.
