ParticipantAs someone that hasn’t watched a single NFL game all year, what should I keep an eye out for today? Any exciting players or schemes? I’m sure Brady’s surgical approach will be fun to watch at least.

Utah
ParticipantIt’s a crazy game. The Eagles are better at every position but one: QB. And Tom Brady is exponentially better than Saint Nick.
This is literally the better team vs the better QB. Should be a fun game.
31-17 Philly.

ParticipantYou’re forgetting about Gronk.

Utah
ParticipantGronk is amazing. But Philly has a couple TE’s that are pretty dang good as well. So, that position would be debateable.
Gronk is the best out of the three, but would you rather have one Gronk or two players that are 80% the player Gronk is, which is still All Pro level players.

ParticipantI think I’d still take one gronk.

ParticipantFair enough. Two positions that NE is better at. That being said, Malcolm Jenkins is a pretty damn good Safety. It will be fun to watch that matchup.

ParticipantWhat you will see is the Eagles play a John Pease style defense. They will try to get pressure with their front four and drop 7, with a mix of man vs zone. The key will be getting to Brady before he can pick you apart. They will try to not give up the big play and make Brady beat them with 10 play drives.
On offense, Philly will run the ball when NE is in a nickle defense. If they can be successful doing that, they will then play action off that and go to a more sideline to sideline passing offense (much like Chip Kelly, ironically). Look at the front seven of NE to see what Philly will run.
When NE is in a 4-3, look for Philly to do quick passes, RPO, and put stress on the edges and Philly has a HUGE advantage with their TE’s and slot recievers. NE will start in a Nickle front seven to try to counter attack that advantage.
That is where Philly will run the ball and try to force NE to bring in an extra LB. When that happens, Philly will attack.

ParticipantUtah – this is an awesome breakdown, very much appreciated. Give this man some upvotes!
Interesting take on Brady vs. the Eagles as well, really shows you how significant the QB position is.

ParticipantJust wait until tomorrow when the Deseret News does a story about how Van Noy single-handedly won the Super Bowl for the Pats. Hilarious.
