We’re gonna make the tournament. Who saw that comin’?
Well done guys.
Damn.

There’s still way too much basketball to be played. I could see this team finishing the season anywhere from 0-4 to 4-0.

Matthew Thomas CastletonParticipant
I totally disagree with you. Utah’s going to win out and finish 20-9 (12-6). They’re going to finish in 2nd place overall in the Pac-12 with that record by my projection. This is possible because we play both UCLA and USC next week, who are both just one game ahead of us in the standings presently (9-5 for both of them vs. 8-6 for us). However, if we beat Wazzu on Saturday and then sweep the LA schools next week, Utah will be no worse than a tie in the loss column with both of them. The only way then for Utah to not finish in 2nd place is if UCLA were to win @ both Colorado and USC because they won @ Arizona. Otherwise, Utah would be in the drivers’ seat.

Oh pshaw. They’re in a zone.

Tony (admin)Keymaster
Can they stay in it or will they drop a WTF game or two?
-
AnonymousInactive
They stay disciplined even when they’re playing poorly.
We literally have no stars on this team and they still win.

So I have win, loss, loss and win still making it?
-

I have win, win, win, win, win, win, win. Yes.

What they’re doing is remarkable.
Don’t be afraid of success.-

You really think that we’re going to lose both USC and UCLA at home? Are you nuts? Utah’s going to beat both of those teams in the Huntsman Center. Neither USC nor UCLA are nearly as good on the road as they are at home.

I did because this was our year to make the tournament. We have a lot of senior leadership, and we did win 20 games last season with basically the same core of players. Utah’s definitely looking like a NCAA Tournament team this year.

Except for the NBA rookie of the year.

For what it’s worth (which is not much), ESPN’s BPI projects us to win all four remaining games. If that plays out, finishing 2nd in the league and making the Tourney during a rebuilding year would be a pretty amazing outcome no one really saw coming (don’t lie now that it looks possible, you know you didn’t see this happening!)… remember the comments on this board a few weeks back about whether Coach K had plateaued or whether he was the right guy for the job?

ironman1315Participant
Honestly, I figured this team a NIT bound preseason. I hope I’m wrong.

Our RPI went from 60 to 50 last night.

If (WHEN) they win out, is there any question that Larry Krystkowiak is the Coach of the Year? He has done a marvellous job this year.
-
ironman1315Participant
He’s a Utah coach so no.
