      1. Washington – I still think they are the best in the league. They started slow against Auburn but fought back. Probably should have won.

      2. Oregon – I’m more worried about playing the ducks than I am any other team. It just doesn’t seem like a good matchup. They’ve got the best QB in the league and weapons all over the field.

      3. Utah – Our defense looks REALLY good so far. I know it’s a small sample size, against Weber, but I think they are who they appear to be. The O-line is my biggest concern, as Weber was in our backfield far too often, but I feel like they’ll get it figured out by week 3.

      4. USC – Started slow against UNLV but eventually put it together. Thier freshman QB looks like he’ll be good. I wish we played them sooner in the season.

      5. Stanford – I wasn’t overly impressed. I think they got too much hype.

      6. ASU – They look surprisingly good. I thought they would be a dumpster fire but they could actually make some noise in the South.

      7. Cal – I’ll admit I didn’t watch them play but this is about where I imagine they are.

      8. WSU – They look ok. Nothing overly impressive.

      9. Arizona – This was the biggest surprise to me. They looked awful in all phases against a bad (but improved) BYU team. If Sumlin is not going to allow Tate to use his legs, Arizona is in for a long year, especially with that horrid defense.

      10. UCLA – Not really a surprise. I was never on the Chip train. He might eventually turn them into something, but not this year.

      11. Colorado – I could see them and UCLA fighting for this spot. They just aren’t very good.

      12. Oregon State – this is what a true dumpster fire looks like.

      Your OSU comment was fantastic! Ha ha.

      Same as I had them before last weekend:

      1/2: Oregon, Utah
      3: Stanford
      4/5: USC, Washington (I had WA as a three loss team, now I have them as a 4 loss team).
      6/7/8/9: ASU, Cal, Arizona, Colorado (all 6-7 wins)
      11: WSU
      12: OSU

      You and I must have watched some very different games this weekend. Colorado behind UCLA? Utah ahead of USC and Stanford? 

      Here’s how I would rank them:

      1. Washington

      2. Oregon

      3. Stanford

      4. Colorado

      5. USC

      6. ASU

      7. WSU

      8. Cal

      9. Utah

      10. Arizona

      11. Oregon State

      12. UCLA

      For anyone who questions me putting Utah so low, keep in mind we are the only team that played an FCS opponent and while we won easily, we looked sloppy as hell while doing it.

        Wow I didn’t think OSU was that terrible. 

        1-4Washington,Oregon,USC and Utah

        5-9 The rest

        10-12 OSU, fUCLA and Zona

        Utah in “ defense”of them they played four quarters of dominant defense. WSU was embarrassed offensively. No blitzes no stunts nothing special just straight up rush and coverage dominance. No big flukey plays given up either.  

         

        Utah offensively got started slow but pretty much finished the game with 41 unanswered. That is pretty damn good I believe. 

        Special teams?  Yeah a fumble and a blocked fg. That sucks. But all of the PAC teams have issues on special teams from what I saw.

          No blitzes? We brought pressure from the LBs and DBs multiple times against WSU. Granted, nothing very elaborate but we were definitely blitzing against the Wildcats.

            It was pretty straight up though. Nothing too much given away.  WSU is not very good offensively granted compared to many of the teams the PAC went up against this weekend. This is why I hate FCS games. NIU isn’t going to be much of a gauge either they are a hot mess offensively.

        Sloppy as hell is 600 yards of offense to 60 yards allowed on defense? Uhhhhh….ok?

        USC gave up 300 yards rushing to UNLV. Cal almost blew a big lead and was bailed out by the refs at the end of the game. Weber would beat CSU and Wyoming. 

        Putting Utah that low…smh. You’ve got an agenda. Playing Weber St is no different than playing UNLV or CSU.

          Agenda? Whatever. Beating Weber State is not the same as beating UNLV or CSU as both of those teams would be almost guaranteed to beat the Wildcats and both have rosters full of players that are better than Weber’s best player. 

          Sloppy is 4 turnovers vs an FCS team.

          Sloppy is not generating a single turnover vs an FCS team.

          Sloppy is 5/14 on 3rd down conversions vs an FCS team.

          Sloppy is failing to convert on a 4th & 1 with a thousand yard back vs an FCS team.

          Sloppy is open WRs dropping 5+ passes that hit them in the hands vs an FCS team.

          Sloppy is allowing an FCS team to smash right through the middle of our FG protection to block a FG.

            Fun fact: analytically speaking, there’s only so much you can do to generate turnovers and those things arent actually causative. Turnovers are a matter of luck as much as they are a matter of skill. The teams just need to put themselves in position and we were in position for 6 turnovers three got called back as the runners progress was stopped and three more we were just a hair off. Defense was fine.
            Offense was sloppy in garbage time (shyne fumble and Shelly exchange). SHelly won’t come in unless there’s an injury. Shyne, who knows but unless he channels 2016 he won’t get in a game. We had one offensive mistake that was sloppy when it mattered and that mistake was fixable. The punt muff was inexcusable.

              Also here’s proof from an NFL perspective. I can’t imagine much difference from college.

                There are differences between forced and unforced turnovers though. When Pease took over he had a great way to coach Utah players to fall on loose balls. Remember how it seemed like under Sitake they would force a fumble but never pick it up?  Pease called it rushing to the ball or something.

                  And . . . UNLV beat 5 FBS teams last year. How many has Weber State beaten in their entire history? UNLV rushed for 300 yards against USC yesterday. Do you think Weber State could do that?

                  Obviously, there are those rare FCS wins over FBS programs, but 99% of FBS teams(including UNLV) would beat Weber State if they played right now.

                Once again,  Utah’s offense is one dimensional. Kwhitt is a friggen caveman when it comes the the “throw game”.

                  What evidence supports one dimensional?  Was it the balance of the rush and pass yards coupled with so many targets and receptions for multiple guys??

      I think Oregon state looked decent against Ohio state. They had some good drives and will scare some people in the pac12 this year. That being said a 4-5 win season will be a good year for them. Zona, UCLA and Colorado will be fighting for the bottom of the south with Utah and usc going for 1-2 and asu being in some awkward in between.

      One single team is made up of three different teams. Offensively I think OSU is better than expected. fUCLA and zona is a hot mess in all phases of the game.
