An SMU player just caught a pass between his knees. The ball never touched the ground and it didn’t appear to move after being secured between the players knees. It was called a catch and then reviewed and reversed. As long as you secure the ball, isn’t it considered a catch?
He did not have control (between his knees) until he was out of bounds. his knees did not secure it till he was out. at least is my interpretation of the call. it was still sliding down his thighs until he was out
I don’t think the rule requires they catch with their hands. In one of his first quarter sugar bowl catches Godfrey had the ball trapped between his elbow and his side. but he was in the middle of the field and not running out of bounds at the time.
