I’m watching the Arkansas vs TAMU game and they just reviewed a targeting call and then reversed it, which was the correct call.

I know it was two weeks ago but it still p**ses me off that both of the targeting calls in the Washington game got called AND were upheld. I know, I’m beating a dead horse… I seriously hate the targeting rule.

That was just a terrible game in general.  From the refs to our O to our coaching.  I think we look better than that from here on out(at least I hope we do).

The rule is killing football both college and pro. It’s completely subjective and carries the biggest penalty with ejection from current game and having to sit out half the next one.

There is no clear definition of the rule which involves multiple factors.

No official or replay official wants to be the one who misses a call when a player does really get hurt so they flag or question every hit which is almost always results in an ejection.

Then your conference commish looks like a fool defending his officials who did miss a blatant targeting hit.

When you miss it on a review days after the incident it is worst. ALWAYS worst. Say they screwed up you expect to train them better and move on.
