Unless he has something up his sleeve where everyone is just completely shocked and amazed, it’s time for him to go. This mismanagement has to end.

Here is a well-written, new, deep-dive into Larry Scott and the conference from Oregon Live: Pac12 Arms Race
There are definitely some problems (if nothing else, perception problems) to be addressed.

We’re pretty close to the era of P4 and G6.

It is insane they need to get someone to fix it and quickly. I was hoping this Amazon thing would offer some sort of stream feature for Prime members or to purchase the networks. I pay for Kindle and Music unlimited. It is just easy for me personally and then I have instant. It is the future but you need to jump on it quickly. I don’t want to pay for hundreds of channels I don’t watch. I stream and can’t stand commercials.

I think that is a bit of an overreaction.
Were closer to a super division of 40-48 schools.
We have to do everything possible to make certain we are in that group.

There are too many major media markets in the west for there to not be a power conference out here.

I am very late to the conversation on this, but I had to count the subscribers for all the ATT providers to see where things line up. I knew there would be some shakeup when ATT bought DirecTV, and more still when they complete the upcoming merger with Time-Warner.
Add to those numbers the fact that ATT mobile phone subscribers (nearly all 145M+ of them) have free streaming of network content on their phones, and suddenly the situation is more dire. Half the population of the country COULD be watching our games, but don’t have easy access.
On top of that, there is no option to buy direct streaming access from the network. That simply has to change.
Larry Scott is paid more than every coach in the league (by far the highest-paid league CEO in the country), and the PAC-12 headquarters in the high-end district in San Fran is just way too damn expensive ($45M+ operating budget, including $7M for the league office real estate lease).
Get new leadership, move the league offices to somewhere far cheaper (e.g. Vegas), move the CCG to a friggin Saturday evening, get better bowl tie-ins, etc. So many new improvements are needed! -

This is an excellent thread from our old buddy formerly known as Portland Ute:

Look, there as some things that Larry Scott and the PAC12 simply cannot overcome. Sports, football in particular, is simply not a religion in the West like in the SE or Midwest. HOWEVER, there is plenty for which he should be held to account.

Excellent points in that as well. Run the conference to net more. I doubt moving HQ from the West coast will ever happen. SLC no way in hell that happens. I would say even Phoenix or Las Vegas. Vegas makes most sense even without a team in that city.
