20-25 carries is the range. 30 is too much. Plus we really have the talent to open up space for him with Huntleys arm and the people catching those passes. Lets keep him explosive into the 4th q and, most importantly, healthy while taking advantage of possibly the most talented position group on the team at RB
I think it should just be game dependent. If giving him the ball 30 times against USC is whats going to result in the win then you have to do it.
What I’d like them to stay away from is the uncessary, espeically late game, situations where they are giving him the ball over and over just to eat clock. I felt like at times they kept both Huntely and Moss in pretty late into games that they shouldn’t have but maybe thats just revisionist history in my head.
Agree 100%. We have capable backups at both the QB and RB position. There’s no reason for Moss or Huntley to be taking a single snap once the game is no longer in question.
I don’t recall a lot of games that were out of reach early in 2018. Here’s hoping the oh-fense gets lots of points on the board in the 1st 3 Qs in 2019 to give the starters some rest.
There’s an NFL statistic where RB’s that get 350+ carries in a single season 95% of them miss greater than half the season the following season. I’d like to see a combination of runs and short catches out of the backfield to 3 RB’s. Mike life easier for Huntley, get TJ green into some speed situations with an open field, and punish teams with Moss, Shyne and Brumfield up the middle.
