Andy Murray, 32, who had in 2016 risen to the top of the tennis world, announced his probable retirement in January at the Australian Open due to severe hip pain.  At the end of January he had hip resurfacing surgery (like hip replacement except  they put a metal cap on the femoral head rather than driving a metal stem into the femur).  Just short of 5 months post-op he entered his first professional tournament in the doubles competition at the Queen’s Club Tournament in London, pairing with Spainard Feliciano Lopez.  He and Lopez began by knocking off the top seeded team and then proceeded to win the tornament this afternoon (US time).

Murray wins his first tournament back from surgery
