Excited to hear about Wilmore and Blackmon performing well. If Blackmon shines at Free Safety this year this defense will be super fun to watch.

Deep balls??
And pick sixes… I am all sorts of emotions at once right now.

I stand by my comments in previous post. Willmore will be running back #2.

Dixon is easily the biggest deep threat we’ve had in the Whittingham era.
-
Ma’ake KavaParticipant
Totally agree. In the open field he’s uncoverable, and tracks and adjusts to deep balls better than anyone I remember since Steve Smith.
Teams will try to jam him, and if he develops an off-the-line juke to negate that, he’ll demand double coverage… which means he’ll be Kuithe’s, Enis’ and Fotheringham’s best friend.

Matthew Thomas CastletonParticipant
Don’t forget Dres Anderson, Kaelin Clay, and David Reed.
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
Dres would make the most insane catches. Then drop a simple route. Clay of course with the Oregon fumble.
-
Hellhound152Participant
Better add the facemask interception on a sure touchdown. I guess David Reed is the winner.

Good little summary from Utah Utes:
LinkOn what he’s looking for the twos on defense to work on…
To get them to be assignment sound. There are still too many mistakes. Better technique, higher sense of urgency. I mean our ones are really good, so there is going to be a drop off, but right now the separation between our one’s and our twos is just too big and we have to shrink that gap.”-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
On how the kickers are doing…
“The kickers did better today, but there is no separation. They are all about at 70-percent right now. The good news is that Matt Gay at this exact time in camp last fall was 68-percent and he just kept getting better and better. So, we are looking for someone who can separate themselves and really take charge.”-
PlainsUteParticipant
thanks for that. I wonder what 70% means? 70% outside of 40 yards is not bad. 70% overall is not very good.
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
Probably overall. Which is pretty good. I think it is better than you know Washington’s situation last season for example.
-
gothamuteParticipant
I’m also pretty sure KWhitt meant Matty Ice was at 68% TWO years ago at this tage, not last year…
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
Matt Gay wasn’t the starter. Well he was 1b if I remember and what’s his face missed and now Gay is one of the best looking kickers in the nation.
-
gothamuteParticipant
Right, but that was two years ago, not one… Gay won Lou Groza in 2017…

Multiple picks by JB? Attention Tareke Lewis, Josh Nurse, Jav Guidry & Burgess – the ball is coming your way!
