I was good friends with Shaun Greens dad and he told me Majerus quit recruiting his last year because he knew he was done. I’m not blaming Majerus at all. He left Giac with great talent but not much incoming behind them.

I was a student during Giac’s last year and Boylen’s tenure sitting in the front row of the Muss. Giac was gifted a sweet 16 team and then he sank that ship and he sank it fast… We had to watch freaking Luke Nevill, Luka Drca, Shaun Green and friends flail around the court.

Narfute I stand corrected. You are right. The incoming recruits of 2004 was Majerus last recruiting year. After Bogut left the cupboard was bare. Sorry for the confusion.

Is UteButters the new OnlyU? I haven’t heard much from OnlyU lately, although it has been the off-season, but still. You still around OnlyU?

Run DMC – Drisdom, Markson, Chaney. All Majerus recruits who were Jr’s in Bogut’s sophomore year.

Bogues was a freshman during Majerus’ last year (the one where Kerry Rupp coached the last 10 or so games) Giaco had to re-recruit bogut to come back.

I’m cautiously optimistic. With an emphasis on “cautiously”.

If Utah can be reasonably healthy, they’ll be in contention for the conference championship.

Bogut was not a Majerus recruit.

Giacoletti took that “bare cupboard” (that had the #1 pick in it..) to the sweet 16 and a 29-6 season. Don’t blame Majerus for the current state of the bball program.

Guillory is the highest rated recruit of the 2 FR, had multiple blue chip offers.

I put zero stock in the MW transfers. Why do we think backups from NM and UNLV will be more than backups on a P4 team?

Wow, you are the last person I would have expected to hear that from! But, if Alex Jensen is anything like Majerus, good times should be returning sooner than later. GO UTES!

It is still a commuter school and the parking combined with the road access is bad. Utah in general is brain dead in just building more and more housing with no infrastructure to support it.

That said this running back room is going to surprise some people. It’s not a finished room either. Guillory will be here in the summer and I expect the staff to add another back after spring.

Right now they’re performing really well though.

The team has been having voluntary practices for a while now. These voluntary practices are mainly focused on install.

Where are you getting your intel on the RBs? Isn’t the whole room new? What kind of practices are they holding at this point?

Not your fault! IMO, Whitt and the media led many on thinking the team was going to be better than the previous years. That may have been true, but one exception, Whitt can be the one to blame for the nose dive in the program. It won’t be off campus. The whole point of these updates is to make the U a community, not a commuter school. More residential spots, entertainment and shopping, restaurants and of course athletics. They want to get to over 40,000 undergrads (see board of trustees meetings). Trust me, they already have the spots narrowed down. On campus.
