It’s not the problem, but it’s part of the problem. The line isn’t always going to be able to make/hold their blocks and you need a back big enough to be capable of getting yards after contact to pick up those tough short yards.

  • Sports often imitates life. We are approaching the 20th year with Whitt. Like any relationship, some of the most vital pillars are communication, trust and transparency. Even if you been in a mostly healthy relationship for over two decades, all of those pillars will collapse very quickly when you feel like you’ve been lied to, misled and got b…[Read more]

Meh. Best of luck to him.

  • TT lost their OC on 12/2/24 and have a replacement by 12/5/24. This old school mentality from Whitt and Harlan are a joke. I don’t want to suffer as a fan because of their incompetence, but it looks like that is a real possibility.

  • Thanks for bringing us back down to earth. I think we will all be feeling different at the end of next season.

  • Stable? That’s not the word I’d use to describe the past two seasons at Utah. It’s also hard to “trust” when we’ve basically been lied too about the state of our QB room the past 2 years. What a cluster.

  • I’m not arguing that Scalley did not know the situation at the time he signed. Human nature leads me to believe that he just might, kinda sorta, maybe, have the teensiest sliver of different mindset today than when he signed. And perhaps he might be more willing to listen if a P4 job came open that would pay him an equivalent salary to what he…[Read more]

  • Whitt has lost a lot of credibility the past two seasons.

    Harlan hasn’t earned credibility.

Trust the process and the people? Yeah, forgive me if I have some trust issues.

  • That maybe true, BUT it didn’t take OU and TT to long at all to lock down their OCs. Their serious and want results and will make it happen! It’s like Whitt has all the time in the world to figure it out while top notch OC prospects getting taken by other programs because you failed to respond accordingly or plain and simple F’d it up like they…[Read more]

  • With all due respect to Mr. Markham you don’t spend 9 months setting expectations, follow that up with 3 months of failing to meet those expectations, watch others who fell short of their own expectations make decisive moves, and then tell your fan base to keep quiet and trust that it will all be fine.

  • Understand, but Whitt led on the media and fanbase about Rising’s injury and poor judgment on Wilson being QB #2, and the results thus far have gone against his better judgment. His name is also synonymous with “game time decision”, and again, we all know how that turned out? 8-5 and 5-7 seasons. Many fans and media now don’t believe him or take…[Read more]

  • having a big back is an overrated luxury more than a need. Better push by the O Line, especially the IOL will get you those 2-3 yards consistently. When first contact is happening in the backfield when everyone knows you are going to run the ball, the problem isn’t the RB’s weight.

  • I don’t trust any of the gossip and rumors about culture dynamics (between coaches and players, etc.) b/c my own experience indicates that it’s turned out to be mostly just that: gossip and rumors. If I had reliable information about the situation and if I wasn’t part of the problem, there’s no way I would be spreading gossip and rumors as a…[Read more]

  • I did listen. But how is this relevant right now? If this interview was last night, then yes. Lots has changed. And do think Morgan would bash Whitt and not back him up? Doesn’t sound like they agree on who to hire.

There are other strings on Ute Hub that talk about Morgan not really having a voice. That is all I am basing this on and again, as…[Read more]

  • Just trying to lighten the mood. It’s amazing how we’ve gone from winning the conference and sending our beloved coach into the sunset with a CFP birth to a Losing season and wanting Whitt to retire. My how things can change.

  • You’re not wrong, but when there is a lack of official news, fans are left to speculate. As an example, see how fans acted during the last 2 years of QB misinformation. Not justifying it, but when people are passionate, they are going to discuss the topic with or without official reporting.

  • I actually don’t think the offense is that far from having all the pieces it needs. Need some return to health at QB and figure out the IOL but the skill players should be solid. Just need a scheme that maximizes their talents and better execution.

  • I’m sure he’s getting a lot of trash in his replies on X but he needs to be aware that Utah is now on a higher tier of program. Not saying they’re a blue blood or anything but the program and the university have more eyes on them than ever and expectations are higher than they have been.

Fans are reactionary and emotional by definition. It’s not…[Read more]

  • 2008 National Champ replied to the topic Nate Johnson in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago

I don’t remember that. I remember talk from our “insiders” that one of the reasons Jackson left was the way Johnson was handled in 2023. And walking away from the team so that Bottari had to play against Colorado may have turned some people off.

Time can heal a lot of wounds and if he was coming back to play a different position, especially…[Read more]
