  • Mitchell ran a 10.81

  • I liked Zack Moss in the spread / read option, wider holes to run through, more spread out, more runs to the outside. This past year, double TE’s and triple TE’s seem to shrink the holes without a Logan Kendall TE.

“Beck’s option attack this past season featured a good mixture of outside and inside running. It featured option-reads with…[Read more]

I heard Wilson was and I think Onlyu mentioned several others that were also guilty that had left or were on their way out. Just meaning that without knowing for sure, this year I’m not as bummed about players leaving, whether they were apart of the problem or just needed to get a fresh start or whatever their reason may be.

  • I wondered about Ganther. Is he hard to play for? Tavion Thomas was great under Kiel McDonald, and struggled under Ganther. I know Tavion had his issues, but shoot, what could have been for him if he got his stuff together? He had a very high ceiling beyond college football, if healthy and his head on straight.

  • I know, right? I had no issue with Wilson going into the portal. Mitchell didn’t really get it going much either.

  • I hear you. But if you feel like you get more playing time elsewhere, that’s attractive to these kids.

  • Wouldn’t be much of an upset since it is #8 (OSU) vs #9 (Tennessee) but out of the four first-round games I think Tennessee has the best chance of an upset. OSU is favored by 7.5 points.

I think there will be at least one upset out of the four.
Looking forward to watching all the games.

  • Hard saying if MM is that big of a loss considering the depth of offense issues. The entire offense including coaches minus the Oline is a redo. A restart for MM might be a good thing for him. Beck has his guys coming in to run his offense. This overhaul is relatively new for Utah and us fans. My only concern is KW staying out of the way. No…[Read more]

What else should have been done differently? Would you rather them not have got those players.

  • I do not think any of the four first-round games are gimmes. I think the best chance of an upset is Indiana over Notre Dame. I find the SMU/Penn St. game to be intriguing, but I think Penn State wins. The Ohio State/Tennessee game is a tossup IMO. I think Texas will beat Clemson by about 10 points.

What game has the greatest chance to be an upset?

  • That’s a shame. I thought he had potential. However, i was not a fan of Ganther and the production that came from the RB room outside of Micah. We have some good new RB recruits and some depth at RB with transfers.

    Snork,
That was snarky of me – I apologize. I was trying to be funny on the back end. Have a terrific day.

Any other year and I’d be more upset, but after all the rumors we’ve heard of cancer in the locker room this is the one year I’m ok with cleaning house. Don’t know that he was apart of all that, but I wonder if it got bad enough that he just wants a fresh start somewhere else.

Probably in response to WP signing. I dont see how Mitchell will get much interest with his performance last year.

  • I’m all for a portal and letting them go where they want to, but it shouldn’t be a drawn out process. There should be a deadline. Like you have 2 days to enter the portal and then if you’re not in there, you missed open enrollment.

Hey team – I have an undergraduate degree from the U (’05) and an MBA from Cal’s Haas School of Business (’10). The networking power is true. Cal is well represented on the West Coast, in pretty much all major east Asian cities (Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc), and the networking is great.

But if you think the…[Read more]

  • It is difficult to build depth at a position when everyone wants to be the starter. Even Penn State who is playing the CFP has lost their backup QB t the portal. That could be a disaster if their starter goes down against SMU.

I hate the NIL and portal the way that it is now working.

  • Not surprising really. Utah just added two RBs that had a lot of production last year and changed the RB coach. He probably was going to get even less touches next year assuming guys stay healthy.

The degree from Cal or top schools was very respected 40 years ago. Not so much the case anymore since it has been revealed that there are so many entry options beyond simple merit. But as Miami pointed out, the degree matters. A tech or engineering degree has a higher degree of difficulty then maybe liberal arts. Sadly, I am not sure all medical…[Read more]

  • That’s super disappointing. I feel like so many of these guys feel some form of adversity and bounce. What happened to earning your stripes, grinding through and then taking advantage of opportunities? He’s finally healthy. This is the exact time to stay. Pretty weak IMO.
