  • I’m not putting that loss on Scalley. Sure, things could have gone better for the D but with a competent offense, giving up 26 points shouldn’t have been a deal breaker. I think it was 7 times inside the ASU 30 and got 19 points out of it.

That being said, whenever I see 9 Utah defenders on the LOS late in a tight game I hide my head under a…[Read more]

  • If I remember correctly, Tupai got so discouraged that it became a psychological issue and he had to retire. Major college football isn’t for everyone so I’m not blaming the staff but there comes a point where you can’t treat 120+ players the same and get the best results out of each. There just isn’t enough time available in 20 hour weeks to…[Read more]

I agree. When Whitt closed the spring scrimmages to the public I was pissed. But for selfish reasons – I just enjoyed going to them.

But closing fall camp almost 100% to the media has consequences.

Since then, the team has been way over-hyped. No inside information. Just “we’re a top 5 team” with nobody left to give an alternative view of the…[Read more]

There’s A LOT to be negative about after that game. Setting all of that aside and leaving it to other posts. What can we be positive about? Please share. Here are some of my thoughts:
    1) Even though it’s highly unlikely, there’s still a chance we could make it to the B12 title game. 2022 happened. And it feels like this conference has plenty…[Read more]

  • I think the phrase is “what should be done eventually must be done immediately” but the why do you want to Fire Whitt crowd won’t agree

Seriously, that SC linebacker owes Utah some royalty money.

Troy Williams also gifted him with a pick in the 2017 game. The SC fans around me laughed when I said out loud that Utah should just put him on scholarship since he was their best receiver.

Whitt also went all in on him and he’s the one who’s getting paid millions to know better

  • I root for the name on the front of the jersey. I don’t give a rat’s ass who gets the job done as long as it gets done.

The idolatry of individual players is the problem. Would 2021 vintage Cam Rising have won tonight’s game? Very likely. But if you expected that to come to fruition, then you were allowing your want to override objective…[Read more]

  • Bowls have been relegated to scrimmages for second and third stringers and have as much interest as the wnba.

I agree that it was ultimately coaching, but I don’t think the playcalling was bad, we just didn’t/don’t have a QB who was able to execute. Soooo many poorly thrown balls tonight. We moved it decently even though our QB was a wounded statue. The playcall doe the TD that got called back for DPI sas great, too. On a lot of this, Cam just couldn’t…[Read more]

  • Have you not seen most of these teams play? You think UCF has a functioning QB room? TCU jas an Ok QB, but the team isn’t good at all. Iowa St and CU are the only 2 teams left on our schedule with what I would consider healthy/good QB situations (though Hoover is pretty good as a player, TCU is a bigger tire fire than us). Our schedule isn’t very…[Read more]

Especially after a by week. There should have been plenty of time to work on Red Zone execution. As well as try to suss out what hasn’t been working over the last two games and make changes.

  • You forgot to take one thing into consideration…every team left in our schedule has a functioning QB room. Unless Utah makes some progress in that direction, victories are going to be hard to come by. Hope is not a method.

  • it’s the Covid effect:

Hey, I’m not sure these mask rules will help- Shut up, you’re trying to kill me!
Hey, has this vaccine best tested? – Shut up and quit trying to kill me with your unvaccinated ass!
Hey, all these studies show that what we did didn’t really help – Why can’t you just move on already

Especially in the online world we all live in today. It only fuels the flames of rampant speculation waiting for some insider to smuggle out the information and give it to Brent McMurphy.

  • I put zero blame on cam. He heard the rumblings, he heard the “scam risings”. He laid it all on the line tonight. However, whit should’ve pulled him at half time. Everyone could see that he was cooked.

Likely? There’s no “salvaging” the season. It’s over because there’s no way we’re even gonna be in the Conference Championship. No Confetence Championship no Playoffs.
There are so many damn things wrong with this team that it’d take a senior thesis to hammer it out!
    No leadership
    LBs are terrible
    DBs are terrible
Cam is hurt again and frankly…[Read more]

  • Something people need to appreciate as well. The players are not immune to these frustrations.

This is a nightmare scenario that was entirely avoidable. In fact, it practically had to jumped in front of. When the confidence in leadership erodes it really isn’t recovering most likely…

should have never come back in 2019.

I realize that what we are seeing is exactly what Whitt wanted and was the inevitable conclusion of his 12 years of revolving OC’s. But it’s also the only possible conclusion of his limited rolodex and unwillingness to go outside his own comfort level.

Saban was considered as having reached his plateau as a…[Read more]
