Watch out for UNLV. Dan Mullen may turn out to be the Rebel football version of Jerry Tarkanian. UNLV won’t be short of cash to pay players and Mullen knows it. At some point we’ll see the West regroup regionally especially with the fading relevance of academic arrogance from the UC schools. The current cross country conference realignment is not…[Read more]

I would say that SLC is a much “bigger” and nicer city than Tucson. As for the college/party life, I cant comment on that. I think Utah is in a much better position to bounce back and have a good 2025 season than UofA. I have my fingers crossed.

“From what it sounds like, I’ll probably get an official scholarship offer,” Zurbrugg said. “I’ll visit the campus, talk to the coaches and staff, and see what it’s all about. If things go well, I can just commit while I’m out there.”

Keep in mind, generally, NIL isn’t funded by the school

USC has more NIL money but UCLA is flat broke and has to pay Cal $30M over the next three years due to their departure to the B1G. That being said, my comment was specifically focused on the differences between Utah and Arizona, seeing as both USC and UCLA are now out of the picture. If both LA schools were still in the picture, then I’d give…[Read more]

So why cancel USC/UCLA? Both of those schools offer a better college environment than U of A, have more NIL money, and they play in the B1G. Utah makes a bit of sense since we offer basically guaranteed playing time and we have his position coach from WSU.

Should come down to money, shouldn’t it? Hard to believe that Zona, with all of their financial issues, has much to throw around. I’m sure that Zona will focus on the college life aspects of going to the school, where, in my opinion, they have an advantage over Utah.

There are probably some guys that want that. However, I’d also bet that there are guys that are fine with perpetual free agency. The vast majority of the P4 football players, at this point, are surely not “in the game” for the education.

Haha yeah, I saw his stats about 4-5 games into the season and noticed that he was on track to match his 2023 total. The fact that he actually did is absolutely hilarious though.

Believe me, no one is crying for Alabama except for Alabama. They’re just pissed that the stasis has changed and they no longer hold all of the cards. If the name of the game now is money, and it is, the only advantage that schools in poor states like Alabama have is the money they receive from the networks. For example, the Boulevard…[Read more]

Looks like the Tide is starting to feel the heat. The thing is that Alabama is one of the poorest states in the nation. It’s one thing to root for the Tide/buy tickets to games, etc… and quite another to straight up give money to athletes.

Interesting..the write=up on him says that he was originally a basketball player who only started playing football in his senior season of high school.

I think it’s best if everything happens in that first second. Alabama ran it extremely well (the four first round WRs, first round RB, and three starting NFL QBs on the roster may have helped) because Tua would either hand it off or immediately fire it to a WR. Offensive lineman might get downfield… but the ball is gone by their third step.
