  • The defense gave up 23 points. I have tried to forget the game but I think some of those came off of Turnovers made by the ass Utah offense. Stop trying to blame the defense. It does more than enough each game.

Utah defense has played as a team the best all season. I will defend them. I won’t defend the dogshit predictable asinine offense though.

Reality is if you review the film from the ‘Zona game, our youth on Defense got exploited big time. Out young DE, young LB’s and CB’s were often out of position and biting on misdirections or fakes.

Our O, well let’s just say all of those calling for Isaac to start the rest of the year in front of Cam should now see why that isn’t the case.…[Read more]

  • I agree they will not be a push over. They want to kick us while we’re down. ASU might be favored if Rising is still out. Two weeks to get ready is a big advantage like AU had last week.

  • I wouldn’t take ASU lightly, with or without the presence of Rising. Dillingham, who is an offensive savant, has them trending in the right direction and, as much as I hate to say it, I’d favor them over Utah if Rising can’t go. The Sun Devils are starting to remind me of how they played in Todd Graham’s best years and we all remember how much…[Read more]

  • You’re totally right. I’m not very good at responding to the right comment. My post is in response to those that say Utah’s in-state talent isn’t very good or important to recruiting. Clearly it is to this year’s team. And, as pointed out, we often don’t get the state’s best talent. Imagine if we got it all… wouldn’t mind having had guys like Jax…[Read more]

  • I could be wrong, but pretty sure all them played high school in Utah. But you’re right several are not top 10 or didn’t sign with Utah out of high school. The OP says in-state recruiting is in the decline… as pointed out, I don’t think that’s true. But several comments were made that in-state talent isn’t that great and not important. I don’t thi…[Read more]

  • I remember those days also proud Ute. 10,000-20,000 at the games. 6-6 was considered a good season. We have come along way with lots of bumps in the road along the way. The loss to Arizona is just another bump.

  • I was pretty hot after the game on Saturday and am tired of the gas lighting, but alas, it is what it is. It was also the first Utah game I’ve been too since the last rose bowl and of course it’s the one they lose. So I was irritated about that.

But it’s been 5 days or so, I’m feeling more settled and the world is still our oyster. We have a…[Read more]

  • Sooooooo, that game against Arizona sure sucked! But at least it seems like a good time for the bye. Hopefully Coach Ludwig watches film and relearns how to use Dijon. How to Kuithe and others in the red zone. Like, be an OC with a 🧠. Feed Bernard.

The time off will be good for guys to get healthy. We really miss Karene. Hoping he’s back for…[Read more]

  • Thanks for the post, Jim. We are lucky as fans to have what we have.

For some stupid reason, I let this Arizona loss bother me much more than it logically should. I really can’t explain it, and it does not make sense.

I was a season ticket holder back in the days when we had back-to-back 1-10 seasons. I had great fun going to games. We lost…[Read more]

  • I think both eras were great in their own way. I give tons of credit to Coach McBride for bringing excitement back at the start and it’s been building ever since. I look at the top-tier SEC and B1G schools and it will be really difficult to get on their level, if ever. That said, I don’t think I’ve ever felt more euphoric when Cam went for 2 at…[Read more]

  • Miami remember when we used to say the big boys were afraid to play us. We can beat anybody. We could be competitive in a P5 conference. Don’t miss the New Mexico Wyoming UNLV games. Air Force was always a test. BYU TCU were always a big rival for conference title. You could drive to most away games.

Great post, Jim, very balanced and well reasoned – how the heck am I suppose to overreact to that? 🙂

  • Back when we hoped to win the battle of the brothers and maybe win a few other games against the likes of Wyoming, Colorado State, and New Mexico, and at least blowing out UTEP was a foregone conclusion. Dreamed of one day beating that team down in Provo and heaven forbid attending a bowl game or maybe being in the ‘others receiving votes’…[Read more]

  • 11 of the 21 listed are not Utah Top 10 guys, or are not from Utah, or didn’t sign with Utah out of HS.

  • I think you have it backwards. When I heard him, Mitchell said the thumb and index fingers are the two most important digits for throwing a football.

  • Ute Dub replied to the topic A good time to reflect in the forum Football 3 months, 3 weeks ago

Agree. Utah is 4-1 with it’s best player out. There are positives to build on.

  • I get what you’re saying. What the other post was griping about was not landing top 10 Utah guys. Half the guys on your list are not top 10 or didn’t sign with Utah, originally, or are not from Utah.

    Mokofisi, not top 10,
    Kump, not top 10,
    Bently, not top 30
    Vakalahi not top 10.
    Damuni signed with Stanford
    Tao Johnson, Idaho
    Togiai, Idaho
    Karene…[Read more]
