did I mention hot routes would be helpful? I feel like I might have mentioned hot routes once, maybe twice, maybe 10,000 times the last two years

Yes, any Big 12 team that goes to the CFP is going to get boat raced, but stressing that at this point would just be sour grapes. Props to the cougs. I wish it didn’t pain me to see them succeed. I feel childish when I hope they lose, but I can’t change the culture I grew up with. They’ve had some lean years and deserve it this time around, as do…[Read more]

I am curious about how many football championships are won by coaches that have been in place several years vs coaches that are new replacements.
Saban won so many that you have to go back a long ways. Off the top of my head though, the Miami coaches all seemed to do it in their 2nd or 3rd year. Meyer won his at Florida in his 2nd and 4th year.…[Read more]

Thanks, Ted. I assumed it was the starting QB.
Admittedly, I’m not as generous as you when it comes to wishing the rival team well, but I appreciate your posts and comments. Overall, my rivalry sentiments are limited to the sport aspect. -
Utah replied to the topic To anyone who thinks we are going to see a wildly different offense today in the forum Football 9 months ago
We’ve gone through 12? 13? OC’s and nothing has changed.
As long as Whitt is the HC, this is our offense. Whitt was dumb to keep Rising around and let Jackson walk. Whitt will never let his offense throw the ball or try to control the game through the air.
If we had kept Jackson and let Rising walk, we’d be undefeated right now.

On 9-15-24, #12 Utah travelled to play #14 Oklahoma State. Since the start of that game, both teams have combined to go 1 and 9 with tonight’s game still to play. I’ve never seen anything like it in my 45+ years of following college football

Yeah, and I honestly kinda gave up on the season already and I’m playing video games instead of watching Utah or CFB as a whole.

Been riding my mountain bike sweating like a pig and getting scratched by oak brush, instead of watching. Think I made the right choice.

First of all, UCF’s starting QB never got hurt. He is still in the game.
Second of all, sports are cyclical. You guys had the best 4-5 year stretch in your school’s history. And I don’t think it’s over if I might add. Whitt has put together some great recruiting classes the last few years.
Third of all, you guys could still very well have a…[Read more]

Trying to get ESPN+ through xfinity. Anyone know how long you have to wait after sign up before it activates?

Plus they are playing a 3-4 team so they won’t get much respect there.

It won’t happen against better competition. If they do happen to get into the CFP, more than likely they will play a team or teams that won’t let them get lucky. However, they are having a lot of success with their former Ute coaches! That tells me IMO, Sitake has allowed them all to coach how they best believe will help the team win and trust…[Read more]

There absolutely can be a Urban Meyer waiting to come to Utah. However, are the odds better or worse than 10%? We could take the chance and repeat until we find one. Would the chance of talking Urban into returning to Utah be better than finding another Urban? Could the odds of finding a quality OC be better than finding a better HC? Even with our…[Read more]

If we played with the same energy BYU plays with, we’d be pretty good. We don’t

I agree with your general sentiment. And I’m also not necessarily against Whitt leaving, but how and when the transition happens could be critical. We don’t have much room for error like USC, Florida, Auburn, etc.

Why can’t there be an Urban Meyer waiting to come to Utah?

I cited Prince based on what I thought your previous post was referring to: what happened with the coach who took over the first time Snyder stepped down?
Yes, anything other than what happens is speculation. And anything that might happen in the future is based on subjective probability and nothing more.
I feel like I keep having to repeat…[Read more]
