Our defesne is damn good.
Once again, this is 100% Whitt’s inability to allow his OC to have more than one QB prepared to play. We aren’t losing to good teams. We are losing to mediocre to BAD teams.
How you can’t have more than one QB ready to play, when you have a former 5 star kid, a 4 star kid from Corner Canyon (other Corner Canyon QB’s…[Read more]

This is who the LDS Church is. They are a PR machine that knows how to make a lot of money.

It gets worse. BYU leaders can step in and not allow Ryan Smith to throw money at this kid.
This is BYU/LDS Church. Take the moral high ground, have someone else toss money around, and tell people YOU didn’t pay the money and YOU are still moral…
This is straight out of Gordon B Hinkley’s playbook.

Utah replied to the topic The next OC in the forum Football 9 months, 1 week ago
Honestly, it doesn’t matter. Whitt has had 2 OC’s that he has been successful with:
Ludwig and Norm Chow.
Chow ain’t coming back and Ludwig just left. No matter who the OC has been, it’s been the same. New OC comes in, tries to throw the ball more, the offense struggles for a game, Whitt shuts it down and we run the ball, win 9 games and Whitt…[Read more]

Third Pitt INT, second pick 6. CRAZY!

If you didn’t see it search for it. It will definitely be on Sportscenter plays of the day. Not the first pick 6 by Pitt, but the second one which pinballed around.

Wankers?
Nobody’s questioning what Whitt has done. Nobody is forcing him out. He has built a solid program with a winning culture that attracts recruits. Two questions you forgot to ask “is he going to retire soon” yes “ does that affect the program “yes. We already have the next coach in waiting. It would be different if we were hiring an…[Read more] -

Lincoln Riley could be available.

I agree Anfernee. Ludwig leaving has put Whitt and Scalley in a bad spot. Whitt needs to decide what’s best for the program and culture. He should coach as long as he pleases but having a coach already in place is much different than Harlan having to find someone new.

If Whitt’s staying, it will be his decision and his decision alone whether we like that or not. Morgan might be able to have some advice and input, but it’s still Whitt’s show.

It cannot be stressed enough how important it is that we get the next OC hiring right. It will not only effect current players either staying or going but it will also be massive in recruiting. Morgan needs full autonomy on the decision. Regardless if Whitt is back for 1 or 2 more years.

5 days. Not even a full week. That’s how long it took to shift the blame for the performance of the offense this season from the coach who stepped down to the players.
It’s your team, own it, can’t blame Ludwig for the miserable performances that been represented on the field

“I find nothing contradictory with the statement by the BYU dude.”
He’s actually not a “BYU dude”. He’s a high-ranking church leader that has “stewardship” over BYU and other church educational endeavors – at least it appears to me.
You’re right in that BYU doesn’t directly pay. That isn’t the point.
The point is that the high-ranking church…[Read more]

Would Witt leaving help NIL funding- no.
Would Witt leaving make recruiting to Utah easier- no, it has always been hard.
Would Witt leaving put Utah into a better conference- no.
Would Witt leaving increase Utah’s athletic budget- no.
Is Utah’s next coach going to be better than Whitt- probably not given that Whitt has been Utah’s best coach,…[Read more]

Could get very ugly. The transfer from Real Madrid (hoops not soccer, and they are a damned good professional basketball squad considered to be one of the very best European teams) will likely be paid far more in Provo then he made with his former team.
College sports, in particular hoops, are going to be about which schools have donors/sponsors…[Read more]

Like many things the church says, it’s pretty two-faced and surface level. They are so desperate to project a certain image while their actions tell a different story.
Definitely wish Utah had NIL donors like Ainge and Smith seem to be becoming for BYU, especially for basketball, but let’s not pretend a future top-10 NBA draft pick would ever…[Read more]

No doubt one of the biggest issues, in hindsight, is that this season’s hopes were riding on a historically injury prone player to avoid an injury. Unfortunately, that was a statistical improbability.

Sounds about right. 3 mil to go somewhere good or 4.5 mil to go to BYU. Yep.

Maybe you can ask Tony to eliminate the “They So Poo Poo” category so we can pat ourselves on the back as we don’t “stoop down to their level”.
Come on, this is what the TSPP category is for. We actually don’t have too many posts in this category as compared to all the others.
