I recall when the hire was made thinking that he better be able to coach up the talent he gets, because he’s not a good recruiter. Well, he himself hasn’t been a good recruiter during his tenure, and to me, there’s no proof he’s coached up the talent he has gotten. Do they fire him after the season or do they wait for one more miserable season…[Read more]

Four years later and the basketball program is a dumpster fire thanks in large part to Craig Smith who I knew was a bad hire the day he was announced as Utah’s next head basketball coach. Utah will probably lose the rest of their games and even though they started conference play with at least 18 more games to go.
I think Smith has had more than…[Read more]

Yep, we should be promoting Raycine Guillory. Have you seen his offer list?! Georgia, Ohio St, Michigan… He’s a talent.

Did you hear Bill RIley’s interview with Smith last night at Slackwater Pizza? I listened to it on my way to the Jazz game versus the Heat. Put simply, the man’s delusional. If you heard him talk, you’d think that Utah was undefeated and that they actually beat Iowa State. All he did is talk about all of the positive things that happened in…[Read more]

Ty was all world as a FR. Zack was impactful as well. We played the wrong Freshmen in Wilmore and Brumfield, should have been Bernard.
We have had ready FR RBs, need to become more reliant on them. Not saying you do it with bigger learning curve positions (QB), but RB is not one of those positions.

When I watch them it is like watching a high level AAU super league team vs. a Junior Jazz team. The basketball skill is not there. The basketball IQ is not these. The athleticism is not there. You cannot play great defense lacking these things against opponents that all have them. Our first three opponents all have them. We got killed three…[Read more]

I think the problem hasn’t been the players not stepping up but the people in charge of letting them play. In my opinion, WR and RB are the two positions that are the most transferable from HS to college in terms of being ready to play immediately. And these were also the two positions where we continually heard that kids weren’t ready because…[Read more]

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. And, someone needs to explain to me how the current NIL and Portal situation could be worse because it really can’t. So I’m willing to at least give Congress a chance to fix the issue. I mean, we’re literally in a Wild West situation here with no rules, law of the strongest, and anarchy holding sway…[Read more]

I agree. This year proves that a field of 12 is better than a chosen 4. Getting to see the cream rise to the top is a joy ride. The traditional favorites have to put up or shut up now. Quite nice indeed.

I’m not holding my breath on what ever congress decides to do will end up being positive. They can’t even pass a simple budget, but are now reliant on “the sky is falling” continuing resolution bills that are literally thousands of pages long. I don’t care what party is “in charge” as there is always unintended consequences with any legislation…[Read more]

You forgot to read where it said, a bipartisan group of Senators. Honestly, who cares who spearheads the push to do something to change what is now the wild west that is college athletics. My interest each day is dwindling with all the pay to play and portal moves.

Best game of the tournament after ASU/Texas. Very entertaining. One thing is certain, Whichever team makes it through this gauntlet, will have earned the right to be crowned national champs. Love the new format.

Spring camp will reshuffle the deck and flush out more talent. I think it’s smarter to wait for supply and talent replenishment than to commit to current limited supply.
We should probably also count on our 2 incoming freshmen to deliver. They’re more talented than what is in the portal currently and underclassmen have been delivering in CFB for…[Read more]

Notre Dame hockey is in the B1G. Currently sixth of seven in conference standings. Penn St. is last.

Change is coming, and soon…
College sports officials spent the past four years seeking federal legislation to block student-athletes from gaining employee status and letting the NCAA impose limits on how much money schools and boosters may give to their athletes. With Republicans taking control of Capitol Hill this month, the odds of the NCAA…

Doubt the SEC would let that happen. ND is in the ACC for other sports and has an agreement for game in football. The SEC would NOT allow them all those perks and let them keep all their money. The SEC would actually probably prohibit them from regular season games if they tried to leave, or at least severely limit the amount of SEC teams they…[Read more]

He is a missing piece for us. Say what you want about NM and UNLV backups that joined us, the staff isn’t done recruiting RB. We need at least two RB1’s and we have one.
Surprise move from Woods. Was it strictly a money move for him? Playing opportunity was here for him.
