The interesting thing is that Ollie Gordon is yet to have a good game this season. They have become passing team.

I like their passing game a lot. They put up a lot of yards last season, but had too many turnovers. They have seemed to clean it up. I get that they are only playing Tulsa, but Tulsa is not terrible.

I think our D will be tested…[Read more]

  • Baldwin isn’t my favorite, but to give him a little credit, Chase Garbers was great at Cal, John Kitna was great at Central (but was great before Baldwin was there coaching), at EW he coached Matt Nichols, BL Mitchell, Vernon Adams, AZ State was a dumpster last year. I think he has a pretty good track record as an assistant and developing…[Read more]

  • Scalley ideally can find someone from outside the program and the state. All of the programs in the state of Utah have produced absolutely nothing in terms of good P4 offensive coordinator talent. Ludwig is the exception. Once he is gone, there is nothing left.

Do you think there’s a good chance Jay Hill would move to Utah once Scalley is promoted to head coach? Do you think Scalley would even want him on his staff? I’m assuming that if Kalani is still the head coach and Jay Hill is still the DC, Hill might want to move on to Utah, given his strong ties to the program.

Regardless of the competition…it’ll be our toughest game and idk if we win. I’m not worried about our defense, I’m still not satisfied with what I’ve seen from our offense. We looked vs SUU then pulled our starters. We looked good for like…1.5 quarters vs Baylor before Cam went out.

Oklahoma State and Kansas St and UCF and TCU are tough. If we have Cam, we are just better. I’m not worried about them at all.

Ok, maybe TCU. I’ll know better after they play UCF today.

QB – we will be happy with our QB today. It’s hard to take the next step. Even Alex Smith sucked his freshman year. Wilson will please and excite people today…[Read more]

  • Call me crazy but Ludwig seems the obvious answer. Convince him to stick around for a few years to facilitate the transition. He is only 60.

    Oklahoma St. is good

  • Charlie Foxtrot replied to the topic Oklahoma St QB in the forum Football 1 week, 3 days ago

Tulsa looks like a HS football team vs OSU size wise. They are selling out to stop the run and getting zero pass rush pressure. Bowman has all day to find his targets.

  • 22Ute22 replied to the topic Possible future Utah OC? in the forum Football 1 week, 3 days ago

We need to hire a great, experienced OC when Scalley takes over. He has absolutely zero HC experience and the last thing we need to do is hamper him with an inexperienced OC.

  • They are looking pretty tough. A talented QB that passes and runs. Some tough running backs, and a big wide receiver in a tight ends body. Defense has stopped Tulsa so far.

I know this is a small snapshot but it looks like The Ok State game away is our first legit test in the new Conference.

We are going to need Bad Moon Rising to be at his…[Read more]

Look at his stats against Arkansas. Not good whatsoever.

Bowman is 15/18 for 3 TDs, 198 pass yards with 9:05 to go in Q2. I don’t how bad Tulsa’s D is, but I thought Bowman is not supposed to be a pass threat?

If I were about to retire I’d love a helicopter ride from Logan over the mountains down to Corner Canyon, if I were still going to be coaching next year and really wanted a player I’d love a helicopter ride from Logan over the mountains down to Corner Canyon.

Not sure it really says much for Whittingham, but hopefully it says a lot to Miles about…[Read more]

100% mental. You end up throwing against air in a situation where you are primed to throw against coverage. It’s so easy to relax and lose your technique

  • ProudUte replied to the topic Whitt in a 🚁 in the forum Football 1 week, 3 days ago

True. He would be recruiting regardless. But, taking a helicopter from Logan personally…

If he was thinking of retiring – I think he would let Scalley make the final push. But, I admit that I don’t know anything.

Those wide open passes can be the hardest ones to throw because at that point its all mental. Kind of like a 3-foot putt.

  • Every game day I post Run Like Hell (not sure how that started. Maybe old UFN days). Then I can’t resist listening to Pink Floyd all day until game time. It’s awesome.
