I’ve never heard a single hatebreed song in my life and was surprised to see that this video has a truckload of views.

I really want to see Isaac gain confidence. Playing with confidence is so important in sports. A guy who plays with confidence (not cocky) is going to play much better than someone who is worried how he will play.
Back in the 70s, Utah’s QB was injured and the backup wasn’t getting it done. Coach Meek decided to play Safety, Steve Marshall.…[Read more]

publicly stated, no. The few times I’ve heard Shah mentioned or he’s been asked directly, he’s said that he was happy with his current role.
I was wondering if people had been hearing otherwise and I had missed it.

Wow, sounds like you are older than me. I do not remember the day after Thanksgiving games. I assume they must have been in the late 50s?

It’s often overlooked but if you think about the 4 big TD’s against SUU, all Rising did was not screw it up. Don’t get me wrong, some of the toughest throws to make are placement passes. Stanley on both his catches and two of Kuithe’s were so wide open that Rising just needed to make sure to give them time to run under the ball.
It’s so easy to…[Read more]

I remember freezing my but off watching this game the day after Thanksgiving every year. Sitting on wood benches on the east side trying to see all the action while the players stood on the track between the stands and the field.
Hell, I guess I am really old. -

Not really. He just likes coaching DBs.

Spavital – We’ve seen his offense last week and last year with Cal. At Cal under Sonny Dykes and West Virginia under Holgerson he ran wide open, pass heavy offenses. Under Wilcox and Aranda, I haven’t been impressed so perhaps it’s more about what the Head Coach wants than his specific influence. He did coach Manziel and Kyler Murray so it’s…[Read more]

Do any of the coaches express public interest in replacing their bosses? I don’t remember ever seeing a coordinator-in-waiting announcement.
But I have no idea about Shah’s aspirations or intentions.

Still too early to predict. There are several teams that could be there in the end. Who ever stays healthy and grows as a team. As of today:
1. Utes
2. Kansas State
3. Oklahoma St. -

has Shah ever expressed interest in the DC job? Everything I’ve seen over the years is that he is happy just coaching the corners and wasn’t looking to get stepped up.

How about we actually support our colleagues?
I’d like to see Utah win the conference championship vs another undefeated or 1-loss B12 team and see both teams make the playoffs and get some wins. It takes time to create bonds but it would be absolutely fantastic to meet another B12 team in the playoff semi- since we are simply imagining a fun…[Read more]

Bingo. I want to see him stay calm, make good decisions, and pass accurately when he throws the ball.
If he does these things I expect him to look fantastic.

Bemoaning our conference seems like bemoaning cold during winter and heat during summer. There is nothing I can do about it so focus on the positive aspects of both seasons rather than feel miserable about the negative aspects.
The positives about being in the B12 as I see them:
-Access to the playoffs. If Utah is really so much better than all…[Read more] -

Obviously several factors come into play here. Relationships of Scalley, offensive philosophy, availability etc. A couple names that come to mind:
Jake Spavital- pass heavy
Tim Cramsey- Balance
Beau Baldwin- pass heavy
Ben Arbuckle- pass heavy
Zak Hill- balance -

he doesn’t need to show out. he doesn’t need to be the hero. run the plays as designed and let the other 10 guys on the offense do their jobs.
Rising looked great game one because he made the right decisions and didn’t force anything. Wilson looked bad game one because he kept going for the highest degree of difficulty. He tried to get away…[Read more]
