Every mother’s dream. Pay my son more he wants to stay. What’s next pay the moms so their sons will stay.

Some of the stuff he did seemed a little shady and under the table. Def out of the box thinker, but it’s like ‘who do we really want to get into bed with’. I’d say sportswashing (hiding human rights issues with sports funding) and private equity and venture capital will make the NIL environment even worse than it is.
Plus, I think there is a…[Read more]

I’d take him back in a heartbeat. He showed a lot of upside. He seems to have better odds than anybody else we’ve had of becoming that lockdown CB we’ve lacked over the past two years.
I’m guessing that he had a good NIL package from Utah until right before the transfer portal opened and then somebody offered him meaningfully more. Maybe we…[Read more]

He got offered twice what Utah did. Didn’t quit. Actually, he will come back if the collective matches. They got the NIL offer (sounds like tampering to me), he went back to Utah to show his ‘market’ value and they balked. Maybe it is high or above our valuation or there is trepidation based on this year and some being overpaid, underdelivered,…[Read more]

It’s a hard line to cross. On one hand you are trying to help the players become successful and prepare them for life after football. Making big NIL money can be life changing for the future. On the other hand you want them to be loyal to the program and ask them to take less money because you can’t match other offers.
It puts both coaches and…[Read more]

IMO experience (and I’ve had a ton at this), alcohol is a complete disaster and can quickly overtake your day-to-day life. As I’ve grown older I’ve tried to maintain my active lifestyle, last check-up with blood work my doctor asks “I see you drink a lot, your counts show it. You’re going to want to cut waaay back if you want to keep playing…[Read more]

Weddle should come coach now at Utah and his son can play for the QB whisperer, coach Kjar at Corner Canyon.

I was talking with Mrs. SkinyUte about this the other day. We have three kids, ages 15 and 11 (twins). As they get older and consider partaking in something, I would prefer that they smoke weed over drinking and (obviously) any sort of harder drugs. 100 out of 100 times, weed would be the far better choice.
I would, of course, prefer that they…[Read more]

Hardings fine. Young BYU coaches seemlike good hires. Biggest concern, once again, will they be allowed to do their job? Don’t see any of these guys sticking around if KW extends his rehab tour to collect another fat pay check for another year or two. Utes still have zero worthy RBs, spots on the Oline and experienced WRs to fill. Long way to g…[Read more]

If we’re okay with prescribing narcotics like morphine, which come with significant risks and side effects, then marijuana, with its well-documented benefits for things like pain relief and anxiety, should be a no-brainer.

Yes, Gaige has been offered a scholarship, though he won’t be here for quite some time. He just finished up his freshman season, I believe. He is a QB. He took over the starting job midway through the season and led the team to a deep playoff run. He had around 1500 yards of total offense, and around 20 TDs. He also had over 70 tackles on defense.…[Read more]

I’ll use the theory from my HS Biology teacher: Everyone starts with an A, whether they keep it or not depends entirely on their results.
To keep that A, I’d use the following statistical benchmarks:
RB coach – Top 2 rushers combine for an average of 1500 yards per season coached
WR coach – Top 2 receivers combine for an average of 1250 yards…[Read more] -

I really don’t think Harding as bad. Fano and Lomu are good. Togiai is solid. Center and RG were tough with Mokofisi and Kump, who need to be replaced if possible. It also sucks that our entire offense (players and coaches) was inept except for Singer, Bernard, and Kuithe. He hasn’t done anything to warrant being fired, but he should really try…[Read more]

He definitely should not have played a single game last season.

For us to contend for the B12 championship (and given a typical Utah team that has a good run game + defense), we probably need at least 2,400 passing yards (200 yards per game)?
It’d be rare for a freshman to provide any meaningful production / a consistent role on the offense. The only ones I can think of have been slot receivers (Covey,…[Read more]
