Yeah this team is COOKED. Looks like Smith made quite a few changes to the lineup this game — a sign of desperation.

Smith should cherish the remainder of his contract, because he’ll be making his way back down to the mid-majors in a year or two and it’s highly unlikely he’ll be given another HC opportunity at P4 anytime soon.

What’s that supposed to mean? That Utah should stick with one mediocre coach because the guy who replaces could also be a mediocre coach? You do realize that Krystkowiak hasn’t worked another basketball job since he got fired by Utah, right? What does that tell you? I know what it tells me.

Rose looked awful against Houston … Average against BYU. Can we move on from wishing Rose back? The kid was in the program for 3 years. Time to reload the QB room and move on

Utah came back to take a 30-29 lead. But then Tech closed the half on a 17-6 run. No mistake, Tech’s a good team…I just checked and they finished 3rd in the conference last season plus they made the NCAAs… going to be a tough slig to beat them.

Problem on offense and defense is the same tonight. Letting the other team play their game. We are timid on both sides of the ball. Afraid to shoot on offense. Afraid to attack on defense.

Anybody over Becker is an improvement in my eyes. I’ll always be thankful for the big fg against USC, but he was beyond unreliable this past season.

It’s hard to have faith in a kicker until they prove it in games.

Becker was supposed to fix the problems with FG and kickoffs, got hurt 4 games in, and both were a problem for two more seasons. Matt Gay didn’t win the job out of fall camp in 2017 and then made 30 of 34 after Chayden Johnston missed the first try of the season.

Is it too late to trade Wilson for Rose? Really liked what we saw from Rose, would prefer him back.

Becker was only 75% on FGs last year with a long of 48 yards. From what I’ve seen, Curtis can easily match that percentage and will likely beat it. He also has a much stronger leg than Becker. At a minimum, I expect our kicking game to be at least as good as last year, if not better.

We might, but I’m pretty faithful in Dillon Curtis. He seems really promising.

Keep Rose if he wants to come back as a PWO to play TE or LB, maybe he can focus on getting a college degree which seems to be the last thing on some of these players minds these days. I’ll add getting back a healthy K. Johnson and T. Fotu getting his JC year back would be very helpful as well.

It seems evident that the players in the Rose camp were correct. LOL

I like Rose and appreciate that he stayed after last season. However, with everyone we have in the QB room now, and Johnson as an emergency QB – I would not waste a roster spot on Rose. He is not good enough for that now that we have rebuilt to QB room.

His injury will not allow him to play in spring ball, so that works against him right now.…[Read more]
