I think it is the best indicator that Beck is running the offense. But I could be totally wrong. I have never worked in the business but it makes sense for an OC to bring his own position coaches rather than trust the existing ones adopt your philosophy.

to your second #2: A lot of those bad bounces were self inflicted which doesn’t always revert to the mean. Just dropped interceptions alone cost the TCU and parochial school games. Even after the “hold heard round the world”, Calhoun dropped a pick 6 that would have iced the game. That’s execution not luck.

My guess is after this weekend is when we would start seeing movement among position coaches if it’s going to happen. Early signing is done but you still need position coaches recruiting the portal. It’s not an either/or world any more. You’ve got to figure out a way to pay both and Whitt said during the season that he already had his spreadsheets and budgets set. Now we’ll see if Blechen / whitt are as good at Moneyball as Billy Bean was.

Here are 3:

#1 – I’d be shocked if we don’t get better QB play next season. Even if it’s a combo of Rose/Wilson, I’ll expect better results than what we saw this year.

#2 – Fewer injury issues. I don’t expect our 2 most important players (Rising and Kuithe this year) to be out for much of the season due to injuries next year.

Statistically the offense was an outlier. It will go back up. I don’t think the coaching improved at all in the BIG12. The defenses top to bottom were pretty unimpressive.
