This is a good nickname and I think will come out of the chute quickly as a fun name inside and outside of Utah. It has HUGE merchandising upside. I think, if it’s Mammoth, they got it right. Much more right than STILL being saddled with Jazz.

Good find, it’ll be interesting to see how the logo and mascot (Wooly) may differ from the Lacrosse team. Kinda looks like stuff from Univ of Alabama football.

Yes you are correct on that. The Wikipedia page on the 96-97 team incorrectly lists him as being a freshman that year.

I just love that 96-97 uniform. I sent these concepts to Harlan’s office, so let’s see if maybe they might be inspired by it.

Utah is under contract with UA until summer 2027. Let’s hope at that point they become a Jordan school!
