But that’s what I’m saying…take the upper bowl as a loss leader and that will be your best perspective pool to get people to start coming down and purchasing those lower bowl seats…and during the dog opponents, those fans will sneak down at halftime and fill it up.

I’ve been watching Ute basketball since Arnie Ferron, Vern Gardner, Wat Misaka, Dick Smuin and Leon Watson played. Whining is part of the culture at tds. Incidentally, I started watching football at the University in Utah in 1947 when my brother was discharged from the navy after WWII.

Winning. The product is not always fun to watch on TV, let alone travel up to the stadium in the cold. Parking also sucks. Also remember that the Huntsman center is about 5,000 to 8,000+ more seats than most college-level arenas. It would be nice if the students actually made up for some of the empty seats like they do at USU and BYU but I…[Read more]

I agree price isn’t keeping people from the games and that winning is the #1 factor.
I do think there’s embedded interest and if the Utes were consistently (i.e. for more than one season) winning and competitive, the Huntsman Center would gradually fill up again. Why?
1) Utah is a basketball state. Yes, the U has become a football first school.…[Read more] -

I’m glad that nobody is talking about the Utes as a contender for the conference. Better to set expectations low and hopefully outperform. Utah performs better as the hunter rather than the hunted.
That said, I think the Big 12 is wide open. I do not think last year’s records are any good indication of what we’ll see next year. Sure, we were…[Read more]

But it’s ok when Dillingham and Yormark go in front of the cameras and do the very same thing. One is scorned but the other is praised. Big 12 double standards. This conference sucks and reeks every which way.

Bill Walton was one of the greatest players of all time and the worst announcer of all time. I always turned the sound off. It’s nice when announcers have ties to the team and know the players and coaches. Vin Scully was my favorite even though I was not a dodger fan. My brother was a huge dodger fan and we shared a room growing up in the mid 6…[Read more]

There’s retribution coming for Harlan’s sh!t fit. I don’t think that ended with the fine. Though there is less predictability than ever, I expect the schedule to be slanted against us (road game travel, road game opponent, bye week timing, etc).

Personally. I currently know what the roster looks like… Every major player and backup. Without knowing the order of the schedule it’s obvi tough to predict… But here is what I do know.
1. Utah under Whit has always been better as underdogs. Always.
2. Utah D will be solid again if not great. Depends how these new corners look and if we can…[Read more] -

It’s a lot more fun when your team doesn’t fall off a cliff and pretends it has no idea how it got there.

Oh well. I mean if you do well people think you’re going to do well again in the future.
We could easily win 9 or 10 games this year if the offense clicks and we find suitable replacements across the roster.
But what’s going to happen instead is that our offense takes a step up. I mean… not like it can go down (I said this exact same thing…[Read more]

Absolutely, also if you have the patience and/or skill to resync often, I like to rewind and watch any of the TV filler content during the commercials on a timeout. Then I can always catch up and resync when the game is back on. So it’s kind of the best of both worlds because the TV usually has some interesting special interest stuff on past…[Read more]
