Maybe we can get Joseph Williams to recommit.

Mike McCarthy got fired by FIU at the end of the season. 😆, maybe he’s willing to give the Colorado HC gig another try?

Colorado is royally screwed if Sanders leaves now. One, every decent available head coach is spoken for. Two, there’s no coach out there that brings the combination of star power and ability to relate young black athletes in one package. Three, every player either present now in Colorado or incoming will jet to another destination. I could…[Read more]

From Jordan Schultz FOX Sports NFL Insider just now:
“Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has spoken with Colorado HC Deion Sanders about the team’s head coaching vacancy, and discussions are expected to continue regarding the possibility of him becoming the next head coach in Dallas.Coach Prime is considered a top candidate, though the Cowboys plan to…[Read more]

I read that Penn St didn’t complete a single pass to a WR this game. That’s a Utah stat, how can that even happen the game still be close?

I doubt it. Jones continues to try to prove to everybody that he is a good GM. We all know he’s not. I don’t think he will go after Prime with all the scrutiny around his decision making. Here’s to hoping I’m wrong and Jerry goes for it.

Will Jerry go after Deion now since McCarthy was let go?

We have been thin recruiting DL players that are around 300 lbs for a couple of years. Odd because for years we have been deep with this need. Raass may be a RM coming in at some point but may take some time warming up. The two we lost to the portal, at this point, would appear to have created a problem in the middle. Currently, we have no backups…[Read more]

It was nice to see us play a team that was clearly worse than us for a change! Wahlin played like he did back in high school. A very nice game for him on both ends! Good to see. Will someone please explain Erickson to me? I bet there are at least 20-25 Utah high school players right now that are better than him. I don’t get it.

I think spots can be won in the spring and with so many new guys, who is at spring practice will have impact. I am wondering if Kaufusi will be inside or outside. There is lots of young LB talent but I expect Barton and Damuni to be the ones we see most the time. If any of the young talent has cover skills they could see time at SS. Johnson will…[Read more]

Utephoria replied to the topic Running Utes hammering OK ST with Gabe and Shark playing point in the forum Basketball (Men) 1 day, 12 hours ago
My son had the exact same experience his senior year, last year, at a local high school here in Bountiful, UT. The only difference was that this was a first year head coach. I often wondered if in his pettiness he played my son inconsistently because he is a BYU graduate and he knew we are a Ute family. Naaaah, that can be it?

Had that rare time when a Ute player (Dawes) was having his way against an opponent with no answer for him. (about 4 dunks in a few minutes)
But he came out during a time out and seemed to be getting a lecture from the coach.

Take the most athletic players and let them play. Height doesn’t matter if you can’t guard the other players or get a rebound. Recruit athletes and develop them.

FWIW – I don’t like Smith and I’m constantly shaking my head at his terrible recruiting, his personnel and rotation decisions, poor attention to defense, free throw shooting etc, and his nauseating Pollyanna BS.

I hear ya. But I’m slightly optimistic that Utah changed its lineup and had a better outcome. It was a tall lineup at 6’6, 6’9, 6’10, 6’8 and 7’1. Madsen, Shark, Wahlin, Auser, Lovering. I’m curious if they’ll use this lineup going forward.
This taller lineup allowed for more bigs to sub off the bench like Dawson and Keller who both played solid…[Read more]

I don’t think there’s any legitimacy to this rumor, especially because Shadeur could get drafted by a team that’s not the Raiders.
To me, coach prime isn’t long for Colorado, but I bet he will stay an extra 1-2 years just to be able to “prove” he didn’t go there “just” for his son. If he has smart advisors around him, he won’t jump to the NFL.…[Read more]

My sons’ had a HS coach that was like that. Very inconsistent rotations, constantly mixing and matching lineups. Certain kids would always start and play lots regardless of productivity while others might be productive one week, then not play the next; while the person that got those minutes were rarely productive. It was very demotivating to a…[Read more]
