I would be disappointed if we don’t have a clear lead back this year (and I’d be disappointed if it isn’t Parker). And if we do have a lead back, then they will likely get 15-17 carries per game like Bernard, Thomas, Moss, etc. did. Jackson would have gotten more carries if he wasn’t so injury prone (I think he was more in the 10-15 range).

I would be surprised if, after the experience of the past two years, they don’t run Dampier less than he was run at NM. I’d guess that will result in the RB’s getting more carries, and in more counters/sweeps with the wing-back/slot WR/TE. (I love that parts of Beck’s offense give me flashbacks to the wing-T).

Just wear a BYU sucks t- shirt and have a pint of whiskey in your back pocket and the Wyoming fans will embrace you.
I think the last time we played them was the last Urban Meyer year. Late night November game on national tv. ESPN had the whole crew and added lights. Overloaded the power grid and power was knocked out for an hour or two.…[Read more]

Thanks AI. With sections A-J on the west (visiting team) side and AA-JJ in the 2nd level, not sure what NDU-NJU means (maybe D-J upper meaning DD-JJ?) and no idea what NKU and NLU are. Section E is center behind the visiting bench – seems unlikely they would give that up. In any event, I think west side is the way to go since it’s not the same…[Read more]

Yeah, even during the Mac years, Mike Anderson only got a little over 20 carries a game on average, and the offense basically consisted of hand it to him a couple times, then chuck it downfield to Steve Smith. I would guess Parker and Rogers will each get 6-10 carries (probably 15 total), with the rest going to Dampier, or fly-sweeps. I don’t…[Read more]

Has Whitt ever given an RB 20-25 carries a game? Maybe Booker and/or White but that’s a decade ago

You are forgetting the major upside of the cute Laramie girls – the ones that only dip Copenhagen in their lower lip and not in both the lower and upper lips. I don’t disagree that there is very little value to this game, but I have always enjoyed games in Laramie. It is usually an enthusiastically hostile environment that has a unique vibe.

I think the last time Utah played at Wyoming the power went out.
The only redeeming quality of Wyoming fans was their hatred for BYU.
This reminds me of the NIU game. Why are we playing there and if Utah comes out flat they could lose.
Nothing good can come from this game. Win and it no big deal. Lose and it’s a season wrecker.

I got this from an AI search:
“At War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, Wyoming, visitor seating is primarily located in Section E and the upper rows of Sections NDU through NJU. Section E is behind the visitor’s sideline and offers a view near midfield, according to RateYourSeats.com. Additionally, Sections NKU and NLU are also designated for visitor…[Read more]

Anyone know the Visitor section at Memorial Stadium and/or the student section (to avoid – I think it’s the whole East side lower level)?

A couple of years ago for an away game I set up all my tailgate stuff, tent, chairs etc… in my driveway. It was quite fun actually!

Sorry. By ‘local’, I meant in Salt Lake City, possibly in the tailgate lot, etc.

I think Parker is all of what Bernard was. As for Jackson I really wished we could have seen him with a complete season where he was healthy. Could have been all time.

Haven’t had a lot of time to look at Rodgers but Parker was a Freshman playing big boy football. He got 735 yards on 137 carries behind a Washington State O-Line. So that is 11 or 12 runs per game at over 5 yards per carry. The rest of the team had 302 carries for 1324 yards. So about 25 carries per game at 4.38 yards per carry.
Also as the…[Read more]

Parker is having a good camp, then, suddenly, Rogers is pushing Parker. Maybe someone doesn’t want Parker getting too comfortable. And maybe Rogers started having a good camp, too.
