Meh, I can’t get excited for any recruiting news, good or bad. Nor can I get excited for any BYU-Provo Campus recruiting news, good or bad. The vast majority of these kids – at both schools – will be used sparingly or not at all as freshmen and end up in the portal.

I get far more excited about portal wins than recruiting wins.

I fully agree. It is still early. I think we will pick up momentum. That kid is going on a mission first. I think we will have a better year than most think. Our offense can’t get worse. Let’s enjoy the ride.

I know the person who has been making donations to BYU. It is not Ryan Smith. That’s all I can say.

I refuse to give in to the online BYU hype machine, which is non-stop portraying Utah as some “has been” program that is falling off a cliff in recruiting and everything else.

Meanwhile, Utah is very possibly picking up most, if not all of the following:

A few years ago high profile Heaps signed with TDS, boasting he would take a victory formation knee 4 times against Utah and lead BYU to a natty. Didn’t quite live up to those predictions.

I feel the same way about preferring night games since I usually have stuff to do during the day, work, or just chilling out. Stacking up those 3star prospects as Ryan Smith and his buddies build BYU football now too….

I’m happy for him, and great to see a former Ute as part of a championship organization. I know he played some minutes in league games, but was on the G league team most of the year. I would consider that he did contribute to their overall success!

I have a feeling that this Alex Jensen team is going to be much more athletic than what we have seen over the past few years. Honestly in the Big 12 I think you have to be athletic to compete, but lets hope they can make things gel together well.

We have a lot of local talent as Utah grows but lets take it one year at a time. A lot can happen in a year to this HS commits.

Ryder is LDS and the Lyons name has a long history at BYU. They should be the favorites to sign him at a discounted NIL rate but they are not.

They are still overpaying to sign a LDS legacy kid because the optics of losing him to USC or Oregon just doesn’t look good in the churches eyes.

as much as i want to say BYU has been lucky the last couple of years, it sure does seem to coincide with Jay Hill becoming a coach there. I seem to recall him being a lights out recruiter and a very good coach.
