The B12 has been known for offense. I think OP’s defensive power perception is only due to the fact we were complete ass on offense last year with everything considered.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Hypothetical question about Rising and Kuithe in the forum Football 1 week ago
Yes, but the fact that we kept him on the roster and repeatedly insisted that he was the guy had a massive impact on our ability to recruit quality players at the QB position, ESPECIALLY experienced transfers. If Rising had simply left, we would have been a lock to pick up an experienced transfer QB wanting to come in and win right away. He…[Read more]

If they had left, and both stayed healthy, I would assume they would at least be on practice squads right now. But, if they had left, there’s no way we win the Pac-12 in 2022.

You DO realize that injuries aren’t unique to players, don’t you? If Rising were gone, it would still be possible that his replacement would have gotten injured as well. In fact Brandon Rose got injured last year as well, and he was one of the top candidates to replace Rising.

I believe in the old adage that “defense travels” and with just a modicum of a competent offense the Utes would have been fine in their 1st B12 year, perhaps even challenged for the championship. I also think that Rick has it right, the passion for the sport is much deeper in the B12, where I live in the Metroplex there are always multiple homes…[Read more]

If only one could predict the future, it would be a lot easier to make the right decisions.

They weren’t part of the debacle, they were the debacle. Again, not their fault. Shit happens, but if they had left after that Rose Bowl loss, there never would have been a debacle in the first place. The debacle was the Rising injuries. No Rising, no injuries, no debacle.

I think it is likely they would have found a home somewhere in the NFL. I think Kuithe is a little undersized though so that might have made it more difficult.

Had Rising and Kuithe decided to go into the NFL draft after the Ohio State Rose Bowl loss would they be playing in the NFL today?
Both of them decided to come back, and each experienced two serious injuries that for all intents and purposes, ended their careers. I love what these two brought to the field as Utes. Unfortunately, they were both…[Read more]

That’s true, and a good point, but these past two years have taught me that it’s best to just come into each season with expectations that revolve around only things I can control. Show up, have a beer or two with friends and family, catch up with other people from your section, etc. I am not paying several hundred dollars for tickets and not…[Read more]

I would consider anything promoting a different website or selling anything as spam.
Exceptions would be:
1. Visitors from other teams inviting us to join their chats
2. Seat availability -

And he got a very good upgrade on 247, from their previous of .91 to .94, with a composite of .9489.

I totally agree. The thing that gets lost on many is that NIL cannot be controlled by the NCAA or the schools because, technically, it is just the same as Nike or Adidas signing a contract with a pro player. The NFL does not control that. A player is free to sign a shoe contract with anyone he wants. That is the same in college with NIL. The NCAA…[Read more]

Here’s the thing w DD. If they can get him to land those tough passes he lands putting the ball at risk as much as he does, he will play one and done. If his TO to TD ration remains high, he’ll finish out college here. I see a ton of potential, so I’m hoping the one year scenario plays out.
