Magic happens, lol. Austin Colie was wearing a t shirt that said “magic happens” last night after the game on the set of the byu tv post game show.

Every BYU win since 1998 has taken a miracle except for 2021. As a byu fan I’ll take it I wouldn’t rank thus byu team in byu’s top 10 seasons, but who knows, this is power 4 football, wheras the teams from the late 70s to 2010 was wac/mwc.

How many times in 2004, 2008, 2021, and 2022 did things just go Utah’s way? Enjoy the ride when your team has a special season and hope for the best when they have a crappy one.

Slightly tougher week in terms of making picks. We had 4 contestants tied for first place. I used the BYU at UTAH predict the score contest results to decide the winner, but in reverse. Congrats to perceptionate on the win! For the win, perceptionate will collect a $25 Amazon gift card courtesy of Pick Em sponsor Company Vitals and @UteBacker.

2nd. His brother had at least 2 also before medically retiring.

If he’d just gone to the draft after 2021 when his stock was at it’s peak.,,

or one could argue that both teams had the same amount of time to work on shoring up their weaknesses for the stretch run of the season.

Anything else sounds like the buildup to the Arizona game where 80% of the posts on here were about how Utah would fix everything that ailed them over that bye week and finally start playing like the conference favourites they were anointed. I really wonder how many times this team has to prove that it is nowhere near as good as people had decided, without evidence, before those same people will start believing it?

Not including season openers, Utah is 4-4 since 2021 with more than a week to prepare for a game. Even recent history doesn’t support Whitt having some secret sauce that he can unleash with extra time.

It would be great if we found a way to use Stanley as a legitimate weapon. I worry that he only looked amazing because the USU and SUU D are kinda slow. It seems like he should be getting/faking some sweeps.

I also would like to see more creative use of Lohner on offense (why not?).

One thing I think we are sorely missing is that Cam was almost as heavy as Tavion Thomas, and could really do some damage on short yardage situations and in the red-zone. A lot of Utah’s really big plays in 2021/2022 were him just trucking a defender (or two or three) to get a first down, or into the endzone. If Rose can be a legit threat with his feet and/or run like bowling ball, that would help a lot.

So painful as a BYU fan. Just look at all those wins in the 2010’s. Ouch. We were close in many of them, but could never get over the hurdle. So many brutal losses.

Thanks God for 2021 haha. 10 in a row would have done me in.

I’ve also had the thought since the 2021 game against byu that we might have the “they so poo poo” curse.

I’m gonna spend all week throwing salt over my shoulder and doing special dances and sending burnt offerings to do my part in pleasing the sports gods.
