I never said anything about his mom, I have no clue if that’s true or not and I honestly don’t even care. He wouldn’t go to ASU just because his mom didn’t want him to go to Utah, there’s more reasons for him going somewhere else than that.

A couple of JC 4 stars we have a good shot at are Quandre Mosely (Safety) and Bamidele Osmele (OL). Mosely LOVED his visit and it doesn’t look like he has a ton of schools looking at him. Hopefully ASU doesn’t swoop in at the last minute and take them from us like it looks like they will with Jayden Daniels…

His mom apparently doesn’t like Utah. ASU is a compromise from what ive heard, im really bummed. The Cajon trio would have been so dope! I hope we can hold on to Jones now…

It would be awesome if Jayden Daniels come to Utah. BUT, we’ll be fine without him. We have Huntley for one more year, Shelley for 3, if you don’t get a 4 star guy this year that’s alright, we have a couple more years to get one. I think a lot of people expected Jayden Daniels to commit to Utah after Tuttle left, and that that was a possible reason for Tuttle leaving. He loved his visit here, but that’s not the only place he liked (ASU has quickly gained favor in his eyes). Don’t get your hearts set on Jayden Daniels, I think it’s very likely he goes elsewhere. Sure would love to have him here though.

He announced via Twitter that he will be committing on December 13th. Top 4 is now ASU, Cal, Utah, and UCLA. (His top 8 did NOT include Arizona State)

I woke up this morning to see that the crystal ball prediction on 247 had ASU as the front runner for Jayden Daniels. I have yet to see any interview or anything where he says ASU is the front runner. I understand that he had high praise for ASU after his visit there but that was like 3 weeks ago, can someone explain to me why his crystal ball is changing now all of the sudden instead of right after he took his visit to ASU AND he spoke about it!

Not having a qb two years in a row could be devastating.

If ASU steals Darren Jones my hate for them will forever by incurable.

I’m ok with this philosophy. It’s served us well to this point.

Sucks about Jayden. Hopefully the coaches can come at him hard this next week and change his mind (more likely, his mother’s mind) about ASU.

Whitt has a very unique philosophy. He doesn’t cater to the “me first” athlete. Unfortunately, alot of high profile quarterbacks have a “me first” attitude and will go where coaches tell them they will start. Whitt isn’t about that at all. This philosophy allows for gems like Cody Barton, Gianni Paul, Britain Covey, etc. to shine. Work your butt off and outplay those around you and you’ll start, regardless of your recruiting ranking.

Unfortunately, that also means we will likely lose out on recruits who think they deserve playing time cuz they were hotshots in high school. Gotta take the good with the bad I guess.

Not saying this is necessarily the case with JD. Could be. Could also be his mom just not liking Utah for some reason. But it certainly seems it was the reason for He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named transferring.

Utah, under Whittingham, will always find its success in the diamonds in the rough and giving everyone the opportunity to earn the starting job through hard work and effort.
