    Ngata? He hasn’t committed anywhere.

Nate Ritchie seems like the second coming of Chase Hansen. He has to be a Utah Man. Ngata would be the best offensive recruit in team history, but not likely.

I’d guess that it could be Daniyel Ngata who was definitely a high profile target, but also a bit of a long shot considering he hasn’t made an official visit here.  According to 247, he is the #2 all purpose back in the country.  He retweeted a couple of ASU related tweets, and the ASU boards feel like that may be him showing his cards.

Like most Ute fans, I hate losing recruits to ASU….but at least it was a recruit that I wasn’t hopeful to land anyway.  Still sucks if it’s true, but I haven’t seen anything solid to necessarily indicate that it’s a lock either…  We’ll see.

Utah is eyeing a few other backs that they are more likely to land…

    It is Ngata.

Makes sense.  Merlin Olsen makes sense too.

I thought about Jim McMahon.  Also, there was a kid from the mids 70s that was on the front of SI that went to ASU.  I forget his name.  There was also Steve Clark who was recruited in 1978.

Wilson was from Idaho and had a great pro player, but I don’t think he was highly recruited high school player.

yes it does. And if not Merlin, then Larry Wilson who was all-pro more than anyone else and in the HOF (Ngata will probably get there). Steve Young grew up in Connecticut, so he might be their best player.

I think we have a better chance here than many might think… look at his list…. utah, ASU, OkSt, TAMU?? Other than tempe, none of those are “attractive” generally speaking other than for football purposes. Plus the bible verse means he’s prob less likely to react to the unique cultural backdrop in UT. He’s def being thoughtful and not just going with the highest brands (just eliminated Oregon and Penn St) like a lot of kids do who then end up fighting to see the field (and nowawadays then enter the transfer portal). I think his brother signed with Clemson last year so that could work for or against them. ASU could be sneaky leader since Eno also gone after this season, but if we win the conference we should be in the hunt for guys like this.

Moss graduates this year. Ngata could come in and be “the guy” immediately. Going 10-2 could help too.
