I’m surprised Utah hasn’t offered yet. Kuithe, Fotheringham and Kincaid should all have moved on by the end of the 2022 season. Assuming Moa will play TE, there is still a need to take a 2nd.

We have Thomas Yassmin (SO) waiting in the wings.  We also just picked up Dalton Kincaid, a San Diego transfer, last week.  He was a pre-season FCS All-American this year.  I’m not saying we shouldn’t go after Carsen, but maybe it’s not that pressing of a need right now?

Also, by my count, it looks like we have 8 TE’s on the roster as of right now.

Agreed, this makes no sense! With Freddie Whittingham being the former HC at Timpview, wouldn’t he have a strong connection to Carsen Ryan?

But can someone please explain to me why Utah hasn’t offered Carsen Ryan? He’s a 4 star TE out of Timpview for the class of 2022. He’s already got 16 offers with BYU and Utah State as well as a couple of Blue Bloods offering him. I know TE is a major need right now, especially with Brant Kuithe and Cole Fotherigham both likely to play in the NFL in the next year or 2. Does anyone know why Utah hasn’t offered this kid?

    Per a 247sports article:
Carsen Ryan, ’22, TE, Provo (Utah) Timpview- Ryan was right behind Ware-Hudson in our eyes among the pass catchers. He’s a big body at 6-4, 235 pounds but moves exceptionally well, has great hands and can run. For his size, he shows very good body control and projects as the kind of tight end who can be both a possession pass catcher because of his hands as well as player who makes plays down the field. He’s currently rated the No. 2 player in the state in the 2022 class with scholarship offers from schools like Arizona State, Arkansas, BYU, Colorado, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oregon State, TCU, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington.

From the looks of it, Utah hasn’t even given this guy a Scout look yet from what I can tell. I hope we give him a look at least. I am tired of other schools, primarily Oregon, taking the best talent from our state.
