2 loss Pac 12 champ finishes 8th. never in consideration and behind both sec champ loser and big 10 champ loser. We get our best bowl game matchup when we go to a non p12 affiliated bowl.

      Larry Scott is blowing it

I feel like the bowl selection committees still have most of the say. It comes down to making money and who cares if it is the correct matchup. Bama simply draws the most.

What’s worse is that the Big-10 and Pac-12 gave up their traditional, and lucrative, New Years Bowl (Rose, of course) and get shut out, not only of the playoff but the NY-6 games.

Hopefully this debacle will motivate the conferences to push on the CFP committee to get an 8-team playoff and auto bids for P5 conference champions.   At-large can then come from the highest ranked teams remaining.

        OK, correction, the “top-6” rankings.

For USC to be 8th even after 8-3 Auburn is a travesty.

the quality of the conference is still undervalued top to bottom and it shows in cfp disparity and $$$$$ disparity

A one loss Pac 12 team champ would likely be in. I don’t think the conference was that strong this year. Having said that undoubtedly the SEC gets way too much deferential treatment regardless of actual quality year to year. The SEC was down this with more bad teams than good. I don’t know about all of you but I am hoping for both Clemson and Oklahoma to take out their SEC foes in round one not to mention I think OU and Clemson are better than any SEC team! We shall see.

couldn’t agree more. Hurts to say it but USC is underrated, all things considered. They played an absolutely brutal schedule and have a ton of quality wins
