This is a test. 1234. DOES THIS WORK? This is attempt three of the new home page implementation.
I’ve spent several weeks working on installing and configuring a new text editor for the home page. The previous text editor was buggy and a couple of weeks ago I replaced it with a very limited, and simple one. That was fine, but people still had a hard time inserting media, links and so on. Also the new post or new reply dialog popped up in a window with a small area. So the goal was to make a bigger area to work with, and add easier and better functionality to the interface to make it easier for users to write posts.
What’s new?
1. New text editor for new posts and replies. The editor has some simple and useful controls for bold text, italic, color, block quote, links, images, movies, preview, and fullscreen. More instructions to be posted soon. The links, images, and movies embed should work MUCH better and more simply.
2. New posts and new replies no longer will be done in a popup window. The new editor area is bigger and has more room for composing posts and viewing them.
3. There are new animations and fun interactive aspects to the home page when opening and closing replies, starting new threads, or posting replies.
4. I’ve tweaked the layout very slightly to look better in mobile.
