10,9,8,7,6,5… #4 JaTravis Broughton and Munir McClain

JaTravis Broughton, Junior CB, 5-11 191

Broughton broke on the scene for the Utes as a sophomore in the 2020 season, starting all 5 games at CB.  He was Honorable Mention All-Conference in 2020.  Unfortunately, during the Utes second game of 2021, versus BYU, Broughton suffered a season-ending injury.   He was fully healed by spring and is now ready to go for 2022.  JT came to Utah from Union HS, a veritable football factory in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Broughton also ran track for the Redhawks, winning state titles in the 4X100, 4X200 and 4X400 relays, also placed second in the 200 m.   For 2022 JaTravis is listed on the depth chart for the opener as starting left CB.

Munir McClain, RS Sophomore TE, 6-1 229

Munir comes to the Utes via USC.  He played at USC in 2019, playing in 5 games before suffering a season-ending injury.  He came to the Utes in 2021 and saw action in 2 games, playing special teams.  McClain went to high school at JSerra HS in Orange County, California.  At JSerra he played TE and had 40 receptions for 659 yards (16.5 ypc) and 10 TDs his senior year.  For that effort he was named 2018 PrepStar All-Western Region and Orange County Register All-Orange County second-team.  With a deep TE room it may be another year before we see significant playing time for Munir, but he could be a big producer then.
