Cole Bishop, Sophomore Safety, 6-2 206
Cole was the Freshman surprise of 2021; as a newcomer he steadily earned more playing time and became a starter for the last 6 games. In 2021 he had 54 tackles (9.0 TFL, 3.0 sacks) plus 5 pass break-ups. He also blocked a punt in the first Oregon game. The 3-star recruit out of Star’s Mills HS in Fayetteville, Georgia (40 miles south of Atlanta), earned an honorable mention All-Conference for his efforts. At Starr’s Mills he was named First-team all-state as a junior, All-region and all-county as a sophomore. In 2019, his junior year he logged 101 tackles, 9 pass breakups and 5 INTs for the Panthers. Expect to see more of the same from Bishop at Utah in 2022, in fact he has been named to the Preseason All-Conference First Team, and Athlon & Phil Steele’s All-Conference First Team.

Brandon Rose, Freshman QB, 6-2 210
Brandon is a Freshman from Riverside County, Southeast of LA. At Murrieta Valley HS, Brandon lead the Nighthawks to a league championship in his senior season, throwing for 3,002 yards (174-of-260) and 33 TDs, while also rushing for 236 yards and 2 TDs. He was then named Southwestern League MVP, and was all-league for three years. Over his career he had more than 7500 passing yards and 74 TDs. Despite the gaudy numbers he put up in HS, he is entering a deep QB room at Utah and will likely be in learning mode for 2022.
