Thank you for this! It was thoroughly enjoyable to relive with slow motion, deliberate cuts and Migos, if course (skrt skrt).

      A couple observations:
The JB hit on Zach Wilson looked very clean on the TV replay, but the angle here doesn’t look as clean. I still think it was, it just doesn’t look it here.

Holy, Zach Moss! The way he sheds tacklers is like how I shed my 6 kids when I get home from work. I have a fond enough opinion of Kalani and Tuiaki that I’m not willing to think it’s just that BYU can’t tackle. I think they teach sound technique, albeit with limited talent, and they can’t get closer to Pres Moss (with few exceptions). I’m so looking forward to that for weeks to come.

As would be expected with an opener, but perhaps even more so when coming off of injury as well, it didn’t seem like Moss, Huntley, or Covey were 100%. Maybe 100% healthy, but not 100% back. I’m hopeful they can get there over the next two weeks, and then I’m giddy at what this looks like when they are. If they had been, I see Moss with 30 more yards and at least 4 more missed tackles (PFF had him at 14 anyway!), and Covey doesn’t get taken down at the 6 on that punt return.

The play Tareke Lewis makes on the ball that JB took to the house gets me very excited. Teams aren’t going to get much going against JJ, so Tareke is in a prime position to shine if that’s what he’s valuable of. I did wonder if the fact he didn’t pick it means questionable ball skills though…

I think it is now beyond doubt that Bernard continues the level of play Barton and Hansen set last year. He demonstrated ball skills, big play ability, read and reacted to create TsFL, and was sound tackling, even with the shiftiest TDS had to offer (the one exception being on the 1 touchdown where we was on skates…).

Relating to that last note, I get the feeling if TDS decided to play like Utah played in this game (with TySon Williams as their Moss, establish the run and counter with play action, they could be a team that really overachieves. Williams seemed to have very legitimate ability and it baffled me everytime Katoa got the ball instead of him. Bushman is above average, and Simon seemed to improve a lot from last year. That’s enough to make waves, and probably puts ZW more in line to have 18 for 18 type days rather than be Max Hall reincarnated.) Anyways…

Lastly, I really hope we get to see more handshakes, dancing, and pregame rituals because we seem to have some great ones on this team. Can anyone get word into the program that we want How U Dance in addition to Why U Play?
