Beck’s RPO offense needs a good running QB and Cam was exactly that until the Penn State game.

No way Cam stays at Utah with an offensive system that requires the QB to run.

I will always fondly remember the 2021 and 2022 seasons with Cam rising at the helm. They were fun seasons with some very memorable games.

Key word there is “healthy”. I’m not sure his horrific knee injury can be recovered from enough to be a peak FBS college football QB.

to be fair a healthy Cam would also have been perfect for Ludwig’s offense.

The long term affects of his knee injury does get somewhat overshadowed by the other injuries he suffered following. Of the five athletes I know from H.S. and college suffering the similar “terrible triad” knee injury, three never played competitive sports again and the other two limped through one year no where near the same level of performance hanging it up after one similar season to Cams or worse. Counting Cam’s years through college, right out of high school, he’s already exceeded the average NFL life years of a pro QB. Good on him if can pick-up one last pay day then move into coaching or whatever else he wants to do with a nice nest egg if he’s been smart with his money. As we see with KW, it’s hard to walk away from a game that’s been part of most of your life. Huge CR fan, wish him the best.

Chicken and egg sort of thought process here. Healthy Cam a whole lot of things be different.

The ankle scooter and fact that his fingers were *still* taped during the Iowa State game doesn’t seem to indicate health

Again, an Offensive/QB graduate assistant or analyst would be a much preferred position for him at this point. With his injury history, he has a snowball’s chance at playing in the NFL. If he does play somewhere, I doubt the NIL will be too aggressive. Time to refocus on the next stage and get into coaching.
