The fumble by Booker with 5:10 left in the 4th is what ultimately lost the game. Utah was moving the ball and credit Arizona for the TO. I didn’t like the option play-call in the second OT, that was weak since AZ was covering that well all game.
What I love about receivers in the Pac-12 besides Utah… THEY CATCH THE FRIKKIN’ BALL!
I haven’t seen that portion of the game, but was listening to it on the iPhone and it seemed like that fumble was the dagger. Uncharacteristic of Booker to fumble. Had he held, they needed 20 to 25 yards for a FG and they were moving it. Now there were several other drives or possessions that were killed by penalty, including the final possession in OT. As for Utah receivers catching the freaking ball, we’ve run quite a number through during the Travis Wilson era. Many of his passes are off target, typically behind or too high. That said, we even see drops when passes are on the money. I’ve come to the conclusion that he doesn’t throw a friendly ball, except to defenders.
