Yes, the ranking itself is meaningless, but the publicity is excellent.  The more our name is in front of recruits the better.  It also gives the current players a sense of pride.

I am far from being able to drink the kool-aid yet.  But, there are many things to be optimistic about right now.  I hope to be in Gainsville on September 3rd.  That game will tell me a lot.

It’s interesting to me that the narrative all season was the pac12 I’d bad, and Iregon is benefiting from that. We then steamroll Oregon twice and that narrative continued.

Then we play OSU and it seems as if our reputation is now better than it would have been had we destroyed Ohio state. Our prestige increased big time when everyone saw us nearly beat an OSU that cared about the game. If we had ran them out of the building they would have just assumed OSU didn’t want to be there.

Unchartered territory to an extent with Utah’s progression. How does Utah handle this level of attention and expectations? Utes historically not done well as the hunted related mostly to not being in that position often. Utes over past couple years have learned a lot about managing the lime light. A lot of eyes will be watching on 9/3.

Transfer portal is a game changer for Utah. May have naive optimism, from my perspective NIL if managed correctly could be a benefit for Utah as well. These one-off players like Caleb Williams and others were never coming to Utah anyway. Let USC and the other schools pamper these kids and manage up the 18 y/o’s handed a million dollars. Sounds like a coaches nightmare. Go Utes!
